So in that first article, there isnt a single environmental regulation that has been repealed after Brexit. What they're pointing to is "OMG we left the EU environmental regulator and created our own British one...." and "OMG the EU has passed some new laws after Brexit banning some chemicals and we haven't done the same". This is not evidence of protections being destroyed, this is simply evidence of a new, independent approach.

Cap on bonuses in the banking sector was always opposed by the UK and disproportionately affected our economy. It isnt a financial safeguard either.

The UK has FATCA (we report foreign tax residents that open bank accounts in the UK to their country's tax authority) and our Criminal Finances Act goes above and beyond EU legislative requirements to prevent Tax Evasion anyway.

As to the ECHR, human rights are enshrined in UK human rights legislation. If we leave the ECHR it will merely remove the right of appeal of cases outside of the British legal system, which let's face it, is being royally abused left right and centre. It won't remove any of your human rights....

As to the benefit of brexit, the primary benefit of brexit is that I didn't want to be in the EU and we are not in the EU. And that makes me happy. It really is that simple.

Given London is known as the money laundering capital of the world I’m not sure that controls on foreign tax residents are all they are cracked up to be!

In what way does the criminal finances act to above and beyond eu legislation? And how does it apply to British tax havens like the Isle of Man and the BVI?

Youre referring to something outside of the remit of the regulation you were talking about. There was always a British water regulator, who has just imposed a record fine on Thames Water for unjustified sewerage discharges

It imposes a duty on regulated sector companies to prevent tax evasion and the facilitation of it and a corporate criminal offence of "failure to prevent the facilitation of tax evasion". Among a tonne of other stuff relating to unexplained wealth powers for law enforcement, information sharing and disclosure responsibilities. BVI is a BOT, and Isle of Man is a Crown Dependency. These are devolved matters for them
 
The water industry has been very poorly regulated for a very long time. But there has been a very clear uplift in the pollution of our rivers and beaches since Brexit. It’s undeniable. Which speaks to the point s raise donnmy post above

Again, just look at the state of what you're posting there. Headline = "weakened regulation" Text is "UK government now has the power to amend environmental legislation". I mean isnt that a good thing? That the people that we vote for actually have power?

London is the number 1 processor of cross border banking transactions in the world. So yes, it is a hub for global money laundering.

A very clear uplift in pollution since Brexit? Really? You're making out like the EU had some for of overseer power preventing this from happening and when we left all these water companies were like "whoo hoooo we ate free to dump sewerage!"

It's utter crap (literally). Sewerage has been done to death on this, but its been a crisis long in the making involving lack of investment in the ancient (in some cases literally Roman) waste water system, growing population, rapid house building and increasing severe weather events, all of which contribute to increasing discharges and none of which is related to Brexit. Would have been the same situation in or out.

But mostly having the only privatised water system in the world. The only country where American pension firms and the Chinese government sell our rain back to us.
