Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

No, absolutely not.

Taxes and spending have to be cut significantly but nobody wants to admit it.
I actually agree with this.

Interesting that our economy is improving faster then the EU. Weird because I thought we were a basket case. I guess once Labour get in(rightly so) in a few months time, hopefully some of the near constant negativity will go once they get in.

Our economy is forecast to have the weakest growth in the G7 for the foreseeable future.

Funny how different sources come up with different scenarios.

I even recently read a report citing the IMF saying that over the last 5 years Britain has out performed the EU economies.

Our economy had just about the biggest crash during covid of the European nations, given that (thanks to another Tory from 40 years ago) we are very largely a service based nation. We therefore had just about the furthest to climb back in relative terms, and from one of the very lowest economic points.

Hey I think this government are a shower of brick. Said that many times.

Want them gone like everyone does. Bit playing devils advocate here, perhaps the country is not as fcuked as everyone always makes out.

Provide some information / context that backs up what you said as Mikey has requested - Just stating something that goes against the grain doesn't make it true if you can't provide substance and he didn't ask whether you like the current lot.

I'm not really sure how you can accurately measure one countries growth versus a large group like the EU, which is why it was an interesting claim to me.

Growth and those who rail against "anti growth" phalanx just seems to be a weapon against wellbeing / happiness / humanity in favour of spreadsheets to me. "If you aren't contributing to the GDP you're dragging the country down" seems to be the vibe, makes sense with Sunak attacking disabled / unemployed / vulnerable folk.

"Country isn't as bad as it seems". Apart from education, housing, NHS, core services like water now making people sick, yeh it's all fine and dandy.

Speaking of which, why aren't Labour pushing to nationalise water? Seems such an obvious open goal. Especially with the latest outbreak below.

For fudge's sake, they are meant to be a socialist party. Transport, water, gas and electricity should all be taken back under public control.

And Royal Mail. Another failed privisation

I was also in a meeting this week where care home owners were explaining how much debt they were having to take on to service dividends. Its just parasitic

We’re still reaping the ‘rewards’ of Thatcherism, unfortunately. Privatise everything, and let those who already have the most profit even more.

It's hard to take much notice of these organisations who constantly change their forecasts. Plus they're still using GDP to measure growth, about time we moved away from it.
The one constant is that the U.K. economy is at the bottom of their forecasts - it’s just by how much.
