Its tough when not every has the same 'energy' as you when it comes to these moments.
I get everyones circumstances are different BUT all I'm thinking is 'i wouldn't miss it for the world' ...it's such a rare occurrence and surely the conclusion of all the blood sweat and tears we put into supporting this club.

Most of the available accomodation is really expensive, but every now and then something affordable pops up and is gone within minutes. Even had a 6-bed apartment reserved for a short while, but you need someone to share the costs with. In the end I just booked a hotel room on the outskirts for me and a mate. They had a second room available as well, but without the option to cancel I didn't bother. The others will have to figure this out for themselves. Would have been nice to get a central apartment, but at least we'll have ample parking opportunities and it's right next to a metro stop.

It's £200 for a foot passenger on the Sunday night ferry out of Portsmouth...gets to Bilbao 8 am Tuesday morning. Of course you then need Tuesday night accommodation.

It is a bit like a mini cruise, HOWEVER the enjoyment is governed by how the bay of Biscay is feeling.

I've only had 2 bad trips across it in about 30 years, had worse crossing in the channel.

We go to France every hear and have been debating the biscay trip
It has such bad reviews for the crossing
I think we would also end up with the kids killing each other

Had a friend who did it last year, return trip. Granted it was in the summer, but he loved it. Said he and the kids were sitting out on the deck whale watching in the sunshine.

You get there nice and early in the morning as well.

We've started to take the St Malo ferry most often now. As it's overnight on the way out but daytime on the way home. (Plus nearer to our various destinations)

And at least a french ferry knows how to do food.

Been to st malo and stayed there but never ferried there
We love it
Not for everyone but my kids prefer it to all the huge 5 star all inclusive where they kinda get lost

Kids just love the boat!

I like St Malo as it's a nice town. So we can do a night there on the way home.

Caen is my entry point next Saturday....4 nights to get to Bilbao

Yeah...we go most years...the port area is pretty bleak.

Le Havre isn't so bad...we've overnighted in Deauville and Honfleur, both lovely, before the ferry the next day.

Not used Cherbourg for a while that fast cat doesn't appear in the schedule as much anymore?

Had traffic issues and were queuing but then saw a lot of black African guys stalking the cars
Caravans and vans were being surrounde
French police were great

When I arrive in Caen they'll probably be a load of Tottenham fans swarming round the van looking for ride to Bilbao
