If music was based on sales Thriller leaves dark side of the moon for dead 70+ million. yes I looked it up

Brothers in arms first album to sell a million cds listened to it again for the first time in years last weekend

Luckily music is bought on everybody's individual tastes & not sales. So Harry even though DSOTM isn't my cup of tea i hope you play DSOTM loud & enjoy every second of it

It's up there for sure. I recently went to a concert with a pink Floyd tribute band called Pulse Floyd. Didn't know what to expect, but they're conciderd to be one of the best tribute bands in Europe.
And it was absolutely magnificent! As close to hearing Pink Floyd live as it gets without actually hearing Pink Floyd.
I've heard Brit Floyd too, but these were actually better, although the vocalist wasn't the best. Played mostly from DSOTM, but plenty of their other stuff too. Was a great 3 hours spent!

As someone who's spent quite some time in a studio, I've learnt that 'perfection' is the prime enemy of 'good enough'.

As far as perfect albums, I think both
Prodigy - Fat of the land and
Faithless - Reverence
are worthy mentions. Not a bad track on either album.

Fat of the Land is a good shout. Not really my genre but a great album.

One of my favourite albums at the moment is F-1 Trillion by Post Malone. My Mrs and Daughter have played it on repeat since it came out and it has embedded itself in my brain.

And of course

Never Mind the gonads by the Sex Pistols. Dread to think how many times I have listened to that over the last (almost) 50 years. Masterpiece that changed music.

*Never Mind the gonads must have been the the follow up to NMTB.

It's alright for a country and Western album and easy listening. Not dissing anyone's taste in music, but musically, its not something remarkable that will be remembered for a long time. It's pretty generic.

On another note, Taylor Swift sells ridiculous amounts of records, but from a purely musical perspective, it's crap! Just shows what millions in marketing can do!
