Football Reasons

1. Simply he is better, for me there is not much difference between Mata and Silva. and is more what we need. I don't think Willian is much better than Chadli really, but Mata excels playing centrally.

The playmaker’s future has been the subject of intense speculation since the return of Jose Mourinho to Stamford Bridge.

The imminent arrival of Anzhi Makhachkala playmaker Willian for £30million has cast further doubt over the 25-year-old's first-team prospects, and Mata was reported to be attracting interest from Tottenham.

However, talkSPORT can reveal there has been no inquiry from the north London side for the World Cup winner and the only Premier League club to make a move is Liverpool.

The Reds wanted to take the attacking midfielder on loan, but that was quickly rejected, with Chelsea insisting Mourinho sees the Spaniard as an integral part of his new-look squad.

Mata was an unused substitute in Monday night’s goalless draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford, but the Blues have no intention of letting the former Valencia man go.

I wonder if Mourinho is really threatened by AVB. I mean this is the the story of the disciple going against the master in real life. Imagine how the media circua would react if Spurs ended this season ahead of Chelsea.:eek:

I could imagine that he would absolutely hate to lose to AVB. To me Mourinho looks like becoming a parody of himself.

Eto'o to Chelsea seems like it's done and dusted. Can't see him keeping Eto'o, Ba, Torres and Lukaku happy. Torres to leave maybe?

If they've signed the Eto'o of old, this will be great for them. But two years at Anzhi in the Russian League as the highest paid player in the world... that's the kind of thing that would make even the best of us a bit rusty, make us lose our edge. I think this is a risk - not so much financial, but a risk of disrupting the squad with a player that will expect a lot of first team football but may not be quite up to the standard any more.
