*** OMT UCL Tottenham Hotspur vs Villarreal ***

But Romero had a stinker apparently.
He was guilty of some misplaced passes through the middle of the park. So were a few others in the 2nd half. Number 18 for them was eating them up and having a great game the 2nd half, and then was substituted. I was relieved when I saw him go off.

Wasn’t a great performance but it’s a champions league game and I’ll take the 3 points. Some things to work on but can’t knock the commitment from the players

One certainally. I don't think he missed many passes. Richarlison (and others) far more guilty of this imo.
Plenty
He gave the ball away twice at the beginning of the second half
Also at got caught under it a couple of times first half
He was way too complacent
The whole defence was
Clean sheet and not a shot on target suggests otherwise.

If you'd said: we need to work on transition and how we play out - then I'd agree.

But to single out Romero is a bit of witch hunt imo. Romero and Bentancur first half were the two players who were keeping the ball moving well. One bad pass from Romero and everyone defults to 'he's so risky'.

Nah
I was there
I’m not singling him out
As I said… they all did it

They were all doing it
He did it too
I watched the game and that was the Romero we have seen before
It was also the Porro we have seen before
Same with Micky and also Spence
Basic errors that we were fortunate that they weren’t punished
Must do better

We're playing in a new way, trying to break quickly, and it wasn't coming off. We needed to get closer and play out a bit more slowely until we were in sync and had some control.

The passing wasn’t because it was quick
It was just poor
It can happen.
It has to be better
It wa fudging also and turgid but a win is a win

Romero to an advanced Sarr seemed like a dedicated out ball for us. It’s risky because that’s a lot of distance, but I don’t blame Romero for not hitting it every time. It’s a hard thing to do, but the rewards of moving us forward are great if it completes.

If only we'd have played well and lost I could die happy in the knowledge nothing change at this club, the fans always have something to moan about.
Only a short time ago I was reading how we wanted pragmatism and clean sheets, its results business.
Is the honeymoon over?
I think everyone walked out of there happy
A win is a win
But it doesn’t change the fact it was a poor game
That’s football
That’s gamble when you buy your ticket

nope, I'm fudging loving it

I'll take that every week, forcing a mistake, our keeper not making a save

tonight was wonderful, my heart rate didn't change at all
