****OMT-Tottenham v QPR******

I noted that years ago when he was on Capital Gold with Jonathan Pierce

No one in the UK media has replaced that kind of fanatical, preacher like coverage of football! It was awesome. We were never in a derby against the scum but the DING DONG DERBY, hype hype hype. I miss it.

It wasn't really tabloid either. As Pierce, was/ is, articulate and erudite. It was more like south american fanaticism.

It is great if we can perform well from start to finish and win the match convincingly. But coming back from a goal down after playing poorly and going on to win the match is always deserves a full credit, even against a shyte team like QPR. So, full credit to the team for their recovery, especially in the 2nd half. It is not always a Spurs team can recover from a shyte start and overcome a deficit to win the match. Besides, it is the result that counts most in the league, not performances.

Sometimes we need luck to win matches. And how we needed the luck of the own goal to get us back into the match ! Hopefully we can get more luck in the coming matches ! One thing we can learn from this match is how we are lacking in quality now. When we needed the goal most, there was no one on the bench we could call upon. With Adebayor injured, we almost entirely relying on Defoe for goals now. Fortunately, Defoe came up with the crucial winning goal. But he still wastes too many easy chances. Let's hope he can continue his goal-scoring run as long as possible.

We could have won the match convincingly if the likes of Defoe, Dempsey and Bale made the most of the chances they got in the 2nd half. But they all got greedy and decided to go on their own instead of passing to better-placed team mates. This is one area AVB should look into. He should tell them they are playing for the team and not for personal glory !

Disappointed we conceded a goal yet again. But really satisfied about the contribution of Vertonghen. He not only created the winning goal for Defoe but also made that match-saving tackle which King would have been proud of. Just wish he can help us stop conceding goals.

Really delighted about this win despite the poor performance. Find it puzzling why we played poorly, especially the midfield of Dembele and Sandro. Maybe they were still tired after playing against Lazio in EL. But if we can win matches even when we play poorly, there is nothing much to complain ! Hopefully this win will boost our confidence to overcome the jinx of ManU !
