*** OMT Tottenham v Crystal Palace ***

do you know how pathetic/apathetic we were ? on a day we played first, away, top of the league we get trounced, in another game the toons were supposed to be a sidenote to the CR7 show, the return - they still managed a goal away ! We could only do 1 shot ...

I cannot be bothered to go through this thread as I am sure the hyperbole will be thick.
Here are some facts to consider.

1) No LoCelso, Romero, Son, Bergwijn or Sanchez before a ball was kicked.
2) Dier/Tanganga ‘new’ CB pairing disrupted after 15 minutes with Dier’s removal for injury. BTW, until he went off we looked comfortable and compact.
3) Royal making his debut.
4) Tanganga’s sending-off meant a completely new CB pairing of Rodon and Davies, which is obviously trouble waiting to happen. Before anyone starts about ‘lack of depth’, that is no Romero, Sanchez, Dier or Tanganga. Four CBs out by the 70th minute. Madness.
5) Zaha should’ve seen red; he tried an upper-cut FFS.

I think (personally) NES made a selection error in not starting Gil (I’d have left the midfield untouched) but there can be little doubt that what could’ve gone wrong did go wrong today. Kane was starved of service for sure, and I believe NES will learn from this. It was a poor performance but until the red card, the least I saw us getting was a point.

Yes there were lots of factors at play yesterday to excuse the poor performance if you want to look at it as an isolated game.

My problem is apart from City , all the games been pretty poor. Even the conference league games .

We look fairly solid but the whole midfield is set up to defend. Even Dele and Moura in the front three were constantly deep defending.

3 Goals . 1 from open play in four games is very worrying and our midfield is a gaping hole devoid of creativity. It was a key area we needed to strengthen and failed. Tanguy and Lo Celso people will say but neither has shown enough in their time here.

I think the previous three games saw us miss at least two relative sitters a match...I do see the concern, but I keep coming back to this list:

Romero
LoCelso
Bergwijn
Sanchez
Son
Ndombele

and have to say that without even counting Gil, we have some players there.

We really need a tune from Ndombele...

It’s a huge chunk of players to be missing
Wrre not talking fringe players either

I fear Ndombele is a lost cause. Yes the list is long but I don’t feel that our midfield can create. Ndombele can but so many question marks over him. I like Lo Celso as he wants to get on and move the ball but he’s not the top of a 3 to create for me.

It has to be Ndombele if we can sort him out.

On today's performance I am inclined to add Kane to that list, albeit he got no service whatsoever...
Kane normally try’s to get something moving when he drops deep but he did not look interested today. Was just a waste of a shirt.

If Ndombele plays, he'll deliver. That ain't the problem. But he won't play under Nuno, unless he has any other options. I think Nuno looks down on any player that actually relies on skill and vision. He only wants stamina.

International football is a massive pain in the arse. If the only way to shut it down is to increase the virulence and lethality of the pandemic and get every border closed, I will buy some cheap Chinese gene sequencing kits and a colony of plague bats, and make damn sure that Spurs never ends up in this situation again.

And another thing that irked me about yesterday, a match against Crystal Palace is not a derby. We have derbies against Woolwich, the Stratford squatters, maybe Chelsea and a fair case could be made for Watford. Palace are located at the ends of the earth, where be dragons, somewhere near Calais or Croydon. A trip to their ground would take days. Not a derby. It may have been an ill-tempered game, but that was down to Palace’s thuggery rather than location.

The idea that locality is of relevance in modern life is ridiculous.

Honestly you are wasting your time .. for some people there are no circumstance or reason, it's just rejoicing in the misery ..

Worst game Spurs has ever played .. fudging hell, the drama of Spurs fans somedays ..

Thank GHod for some sense and a sense of reality from some of the knee jerking that has followed the game from some. We were shocking but there where lots of reasons for this as you have said. A bad day at the office for sure but there were a lot of reasons for what happened.

hahaha .. either you are fudging senile, have Alzheimer's or really haven't seen a lot of Spurs games.

Bad game absolutely, worst game ever? .. thanks mate, you actually cheered me up after a brick performance.

That isn't even the worse performance in the last 12 months ... wouldn't make the fudging top 10 in the last decade ...
Name 10 other games were we got bullied by a lower table side for 90 minutes, and without us even having something remotely looking like a goal chance in 90 minutes. I'm waiting....
