When play goes on but is then brought back for a VAR check and a pen given for example, do they add on the time elapsed between the incident and the confirmed check?

Here's one I have asked before.

If play carries on during a check, and a player commits a serious foul and gets a red, but then play goes back to the penalty incident, is the red card rescinded as that passage of play should then not have occured???

Nope.

That happened this week here in Denmark in the game between AGF Aarhus and Brøndby.

Ref missed a penalty for handball, play goes on and a player for Brøndby gets his 2nd yellow for a free kick 10 seconds later.

AGF then gets the pen after VAR-check, but player from Brøndby still got sent off.
