**** OMT Tottenham Hotspur Vs Coventry City ****

1-0 up but frankly that was a awful 1st half, performance wise the worst since Brentford, it’s more the story of how bad Coventry have been than how good we have. it’s frustrating because the manager has messed with the shape of the team at a time our performances were getting better game by game.

Things certainly aren't working like they have been. (Caveat, the change of system is new). We are controlling it in phases. But I feel Cov are capable of creating chances.

Id suggest keeping their set plays to a minimum as well.

We seem very reluctant to play balls in behind or into the channels. We have players on the half-turn pointing where they want it, and no pass is forthcoming.

Maybe it’s something to do with not trying to tire ourselves out too early? Robertson was wide open just then from VDV…VdV didn’t play it, seems intentional.

It’s weird…I thought that was our worst first half of the season. Maybe we are a bit more solid, maybe we’ve been a bit less hell for leather in attack. It’s been fine. But I think we’ve been far better in the previous games where it’s been very obvious we should have scored. But great to be ahead.

Also think if 3-4-3 is intended to neutralise Cov’s direct play, that might be having an impact on our possession game. They’re crowding the middle, it’s hard to find space. Gray is taking up some very interesting positions though.

Think and hope we’ll pick up second half.
VDV isn't a passer, that's probably why he didn't play it.

Been pretty fudging poor. Maddison the difference. We need another quick.

We were much better at Old Trafford.
Maddison and shooting. Without the goal, few would've said this was a good half. We're so utterly predictable in that we never shoot from distance unless 2-0 down with 5 mins to go, defenders only need to mark us out and wait for us to either play ourselves up our own bottoms with our non-existant movement up top, or the inevitable wide pass followed by a hope and forget. Shooting adds unpredictability and opens up space - and even a goal from time to time.
