OMT *** Tottenham Hotspur v woolwich *** 22.2.26

Just need some realism to be honest:

Our first XI - Vic/Porro/Romero/VDV/Udogie/Bentacur/Palihinha/Maddison/Kulu/Kudus/Solanke (missing 8 of 11)

Our second XI - Kinsky/Spence/Danso/Dragusin/Davies/Bergvall/Gray/Simons/Odobert/Tel/Richarlison (Missing 5 of the 11)

Third: Muani/Bissouma/Souza/Sarr/Random kids

Ok could argue maybe Muani or Sarr could get in second XI but you get the point, there is no way in hell we go to top of the league with a new manager fielding 2nd and 3rd XI players and expect to win. This game was never our fight, the next few games maybe with one eye on getting some of these players back starting with Solanke/Richy (who were subs) hopefully Porro as well. More of our first XI we get back the better off we will be but I would take some of these players 2nd XI right now so at least we can rest when tired and/or have some options off the bench

We should pin this post. Our injuries are so bad, I think you can’t accurately judge the manager or the squad at the moment. Just hope we stay up and get better luck with injuries next season - then let’s see where we were at (after all we finished 5th the last time we had a season with normal injuries).

If and when the Arse win the PL and we see Gabriel embracing Arteta with a medal around each neck and big sh1t eating grins on their faces, we cannot say that we tried to stop them; we didn't put up a fight, we didn't challenge them, we didn't injure them, we just folded like wet cardboard as usual.

They won't remember the cheating, the fouls, the dives. Sickening today, absolutely clueless. We just sat off them, no bite, no press, just let them do whatever they wanted and score easy goal after easy goal.
There’s the pain right there. Spot on

If we stay up, I’m happy we won’t have European football next season. We can start fresh with a new manager, sell those players that want out and that we get a good price for and start the rebuild. We will have time in training, plus hopefully fewer injuries due to lower fixture demands. Then we work upwards. First now we have to stay clear of relegation. Realistically today’s match was always likely to be behind us. So it’s about how we react performance and results wise away to Fulham in our next match.

Tbh mate I don't think it matters what formation or system you play, fundamentally our players are lacking. Meaning that at the key moment they will do the wrong thing.
The word " feeble" comes to mind when watching our players. Outmuscled, easily pushed off the ball, weak willed and half arsed at everything they do. Spence is a typical example. Has got all the attributes but never delivers, never gets crosses in, never drives into the box, and tinkle weak in the tackle.

I find that a stretch. We lack a decent CM that can pass the ball. As for our attacking options they are just not good enough. Deki would not be able to do it on his own.

The money spent on Richi , Solanke and Tel is criminal for the quality of players they are.

Mid to top half of table yes maybe but top 6 not for me.

I have banged this drum for a while. We have been poor in player purchases.
Good point. 150 mill plus on 3 bang average journeymen. Our recruitment hss been abysmal for years.

Game kicked off at 3 a m here in Oz. I was going to watch the highlights today but i wont bother now. I did pick the score before hand. I shoudve put 50 bucks on it.
I cant see where a won is coming from sadly. We are going down for sure if Wham keep picking up points.

It's looking like a big if. We are witnessing the results of the game of Jenga ENIC have been playing with the squad over the best part of a decade or more and the tower is just about on the verge of collapse.

I got up at around 1:30am and watched the second half (am in Perth). Absolute glutton for punishment.

We need people who are pationate about the club. If this were so, even with a poor team they would not have capitulated like today. We need people who care about this club! I'm not so sure we have that anymore and thats sad. Levy tried and was able to bring us some great players overr the years but just lacked a bit more know how about football. I hav'nt been following us so closly as i used to whats more football for me has changed so much and so has Tottenham as a football club and as demographic place in London. I think we had more of an identity years ago and thats gone. Todays defeat is so embarrasing and i would like to think we would never have lost todays game if i was in charge even if we had a weak Team.. Anyway it is what it is as they say and there"s nothing I can do. On a last note we did have some world class players not long ago..Kane Sonny ..it just takes one or two really world class players that can lift a whole Team! Looking back over the years I can remember one occasion we had a prettty poor Team and an ageing Alan Gilzean came on in the second half and completely transformed how we played. So yo see you must have these kind of players available if your going to play sucessfull football. Anyway thw world is running away frm me these days in all manor of ways! As far as the football goes the game has been ruined by substitutes. There is simply no skill in the game anymore and thats been stamped out by high press footbal. Tell me whos running the game now? The coach or the players. If its the coach and it is there is no Team and no real football as it should be played. There should be only one sub and that should be for injury to a player IMO. On a last note we proberly need to sack all the Directors who run this club because they know f all about football. GHod only knows who we should bring in to replace them..i have no idea except we need to do something dont we! For a club that can only win a second hand trophy every thirty years or so..lastly you dont fall apart and lose to them without putting up a hell of a fight. This club is too weak and soft and the Manegment of it has been atriocious for many years they must all be sacked but that ant going to happen is it? So happy spursing folks as I will probably be playing a proper game of football somewhere up in the sky ..if a creator does exist..which is a bit of a long shot but not as long as it takes for Tottenham Hotspur football club to find a way of Winning before the Plannet feezes over..

We were truly awful from start to finish. From high in the North I had no idea what we were trying to do. There isn’t a top class PL player available for us at the minute, but for me so many of our problems start from the keeper; zero presence, awful distribution, ponderous, panicky…so so poor.

I was sat in East lower and was also disappointed by how little improvement in performance there was, considering the squad had nearly a fortnight to prepare for NLD and our new gaffer has a reputation for winning his first game.

At least the atmosphere was decent (despite those interminable breaks for whatever was up with linesman’s headsets) until we capitulated at the end; the early exodus meant that simply by hanging around for a quick drink after final whistle we were able to stroll straight up to platform at WHL station and even got seats on the train for the first time since we moved into the new stadium!

Whaaooo, are you saying we won't win the Champions League?!
Pfft

all good points

but all 4 goals were shocking from a defensive point of view

the first, 3 guys close enough to stick a head in and win a FK off of Eze's high boot, the second, again, three people should have been on his touch, the third, clear the fudging ball the first time you have the opportunity, the last one, don't be so fudging weak and let yourself be pushed off the ball

all basics

Agreed mate.

Thank fudge we avoided relegation

Mercifully our away form kept us up, as nWHL has become such a popular tourist destination that we’re now ranked 19th on the Home Form table stretching back these past 15 months from when we gifted Ipswich Town their first top flight victory since 2002 🎁
