***OMT*** Tottenham Hotspur v Man Utd*** Europa League Final Wednesday May 21st, KO 8pm

thfcsteff

Tony Galvin
This is it.
One match.
90 minutes give or take.
90 minutes between us and flipping the entire fu-cking paradigm of this 2024/25 season on it's silly little head.

If you don't feel it in yer waters, then go to the Doctor's NOW muthafukka!
Because we have arrived at the most deliciously glorious and wonderful Tottenham moment, the sort that ONLY Tottenham Hotspur FC can create in context of a season like ours; you can kick us, beat us, cripple half our fu-king squad, throw tomatoes still in the tin at our manager, yet SOMEHOW we're in a European final when the likes of those filthy dirty prancing Goons and Manchester bricktty aren't. Remember, there are loads of boring Uniteds and City's, but there's only ONE HOTSPUR!

This side -this squad- is so YOUNG that they know not of the 'baggage' associated with our (more recent) history.
They DGAF.
What they DO know is how to re-arrange their feet and minds when it comes to European football.
So whatever you think you know, whatever you fear could happen, just know it's in YOUR head...that this collection of not-especially-star-studded, perhaps too-young, and most certainly inconsistent players knows how to get their jive on when it counts. And it counts only once more this season.
In this one.

We have the beauty, we have the history, we have the cheek, the charm, the swagger, the magic and the rhythm to win. With the power of a charging rhino, no-one can stop us.
No-one.
Believe you bastards, and believe with all your hearts!

It's about belief, will and determination. Beating any premier league side 4 times in a row is rather difficult, but we'll do it to the dirty fudging mancs! Locals attending the game will surly be on our side, and so will probably the rest of the world outside of the red side of Manchester. Let's make it count! Bring home glory and the trophy. Celebrate like it's 1999, 1882 or whatever. Just get it done, and then start fresh in August again. With Champions league!

COYS!

this guys analyses man u's league performance and thinks they perform worse after amorim arrived and would be relegated based on current results

Disagree. Impressed is maybe the wrong word, but both have been an upgrade.

I'd be interested to see how our goals scored and general attacking threat compares with and without him in the team. It feels to me we've been pretty blunt in attack recently though i do realise that Son individually hasn't been great.

With no Maddison Bergvall and potentially Kulusevski we're going to be short of creativity so a player in the final who is capable of scoring out of nowhere might be what swings it

With no creative midfielders we'll just have to lump it onto Richie's or Solanke's head at every opportunity. I like it, could be a reversion to football of old with 5 at the front...no fannying around playing out from the back, just launch every ball forward to cut the midfield out completely. If we win, it will start a whole new trend in tactics :)

We've beaten them 4 times and drawn once playing kamikaze football under Ange, but that was a different United to the one we'll see in the final. Changing it up might suit us. We certainly need to be more aware of threats out wide than we generally are. There were numerous times against Glimt where one of their wingers had all the freedom in the world as our FB was marking the penalty spot, but they weren't able create a chance for him.

Didn't think I'd see creativity and Son in the same sentence! I would rather concentrate on the defending. Finals are usually tight and boring affairs, and I would rather see him on the bench - if it's 0-0 after 60mins, fine, bring him on, but with him starting I think we're more liable to concede first and then have an upward battle.

I HATE utd more then any other team for several reasons, I was on Citys books when i was a kid [when City were a lower div team] all my relatives were Utd fans and i used to get brick from all of them, City were still in Moss Side at the time and the area was a brickhole and you took your chances when you played there.

Utd are obviously not the team they were then but they are still arseholes imo.

I'm not talking about Son individually but how the team has functioned with/without him - as someone else mentioned Son often gets doubled up on, has that doubling up on maybe created space in which our attacking play has seen a better return? Would need to look in to it but like I say certainly feels to me that we are looking a lot worse attack wise these past few weeks
