This version of City is fragile, I'd argue the game was more

- We started well if not dominating, playing more Frank's way, City were quiet.
- Biss gives away ball, breakaway happens, they get goal, City gets confidence, we lose it, we struggle for rest of first half.
- Formation change as well as personnel means we look better, we start moving forward, pressing City
- We score, we gain confidence, City lose it, for about 20 minutes it's only their GK that keeps them in the game
- Last 10, the difference in sub bench allows them to pull it back a little

Pep made multiple midfield changes in 2nd half which says a lot, Xavi and Gallagher ran them ragged

This is by far the fairest summation of yesterdays game I’ve read, I wish I could be as succinct.

Think it was a mixture of both. Frank clearly made changes and the players, to be fair to them, took the game to City when all looked lost. Showed some character.

But if I'm City I'm wondering how the fudge we allowed a Spurs team, bereft of confidence and support, back into that game. They dingdonged us first half, at times we couldn't get the ball. Neville alluded to it afterwards I believe, there was almost an air of arrogance or over-confidence to City's performance. That allied with the changes we made enabled us to get back into the game.

Champions don't allow that to happen. That's where Pep and Rodri need to look in the mirror as manager and captain. Blame the ref all you want but City were also architects of their own downfall.

Was probably mainly Frank's half time team talk that did it - 'Lads, it's City' :) .....

Good summary.

City at their best would have taken the sting out of that game in the second half and they're definitely looking more fragile than they have at their best.

We definitely tired towards the end, more than last 10 minutes for me we dropped off a bit and became more cautious. Subs and fitness a significant part of that. But we still had some attacking threat after that, unlike most of the first half after conceding. Could have gone either way at that point, whereas in the first half after their goal it seemed to be going only one way.

Watched "The Big Match" on ITV4 yesterday, it was the Spurs v Chelsea relegation battle 1975.
At one point Pat Jennings was in a similar field position to Vicario and he put the ball out of play 30 yards up the park, suppose it's a bit unfair to compare them but I think most keepers would do what Pat did.
There was a great scene in the broadcast where about a dozen teenagers were shown hanging on half way up floodlight pylon at the Paxton Road end, good to see the old tradition of throw toilet rolls at the goalpost.
My own game was called off late that day and I went with 2 team mates who were Chelsea fans, was great to see their increasing fears of relegation.

Xavi and Gallagher doing the job in 2nd half yesterday which Maddison and Kulusevski were during for much of last season, hopefully we’ll have all 4 of them fit soon so that Frank has the luxury of being able to bring on like-for-like 💪
 
Proof that stats in isolation can be used to infer anything.

Yesterday and Frankfurt were good results and performances. Let’s hope it builds some momentum coz we sure as fudge need it this month. Frank’s bought himself time but he’s got to use that time to prove he can have a future here.

Unless we go on an end of season run and either get top 6 and back into ELor (WOWZERS) win the actual CL competition itself, i think Frank's goose is cooked.

It might actually be why (cyncically) the club aren't pushing to get him any key signings this January (yes, people can mention Gallagher, but is Gallagher really a game-changing signing in that he's bringing key skills/attributes to the squad that aren't already there?)
