*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Burnley FC ***

Well the last three games were quite a display of the team and TF's capabilities - TF is living up to expectations as a defence first but also attacking minded coach, who reads the game well knows how to maximize the use of available talents.

Its Burnley but we've seen how the team is so much more organised and efficient under TF. The balance between defence and attack is just right.
The goals seem to be tailor made for Richy and Johnson - played to their strengths.

Hopeful we get more reinforcements and back TF. A draw against Arsenal, losing the shootout to PSG and 3-0 Burnley home seems to suggest that we are going to be capable of fighting for CL places - provided the players stay fit and we have higher quality depth compared to last season.

Kudus is a 100mil pound player already under TF

How much was maddison worth after 5 games under ange?

Lets not get too excited just yet. He did really well. Can't we just leave it at that? Rather than the build them up to only rip them down.

hoping for the best but expecting the worst...
(are they gonna drop the bomb or not?)

One other thing I noticed which was significantly different (and welcome).
It seemed like everybody's first-touch was back on point. One thing I noticed a lot last season was how many of our players were not illustrating a good first touch. I am assuming this is part of the fundamental work Frank and the training staff have been doing, because a good first-touch is key to everything. Delighted to see it.
With all these players available we didn't have a bad time last season either.

(You are expected to have an excellent first-touch if you are a PL player. You usually start practicing at the age of 4 and by 16 you should have reached your limits)

I watch uncut video of Burnley game and notice at one point Sarr rolls his foot over the, I've never seen him do it before it could be a sign of his growing confidence in himself and his game, hope he continues to improve I think there is a big player there.

Watching him so far this season he does seem to be more confident on the ball, still 22 and he seems to be playing with more confidence in his game for sure. Hope he keeps it up.

Agreed and I think that we lost our way with fundamentals last season, most likely due to the incessant injuries/recoveries, etc...

To those at the match, what did we change tactically in the second half?
Was it just a case of the second (incredible) goal by Richarlison giving the whole team a lift or a more noticeable difference than that?

There was nothing coming down our left in the first half; Johnson seemed to be mostly staying high and wide and might as well not have been on the pitch. I had the impression that he was drifting more central second half and getting more involved, eventually getting his goal, of course.

Think the midfielders know they can take a bit more risk and be confident that if they lose the ball the opposition isn't in straight away as everyone is bombing forward.

Players looked scared last year

Often times, a change can be due to the opposition making a tactical change, or giving up a bit, or subbing off a good player for a kid we've never heard of.

I confess I didn't pay any attention whatsoever to Burnley's team except to note Walker and Esteve played.

I didn't think any of their player stood out, but I was watching on TV in a bar. It was a tough game for them and the early goal probably effected their confidence and game plan, Esteve did not impress me and I can't remember Edwards touching the ball when he came on. It will take them a bit of time to adjust to PL.

Not at the match, only watched on TV. For me the biggest change was more players taking more responsibility (and risk) on the ball. Mentioned Gray in particular earlier. Not sure that counts as a tactical change or not?

Then we got the second goal and Burnley faded.

I thought Gray improved as the game went on, probably the best I've seen him play in midfield for us.
