We saved our better players for the end of the match.
Transfermarkt says Hauge is 25 and worth EUR4m. Very good value. I know he struggled at Frankfurt.
Archie Gray is excellent, great runs into forward positions, fills in midfield, fills in defence, very smart and mature. Also tall and will be well built as he matures.
Shame Odobert didn't bury that header, it was SO SO SO hard to hit the bar from where he was, a yard off the floor; just head it in the frickin net in front of you.
A point is a great result (they went close, they missed a pen, we hit the post twice).

There were other changes than Kudus available. Getting Simons on in midfield at halftime when it was obvious we needed someone that could actually pass the ball in there.

Because of the way we play now no one is scoring the goals of last season. Despite him not being a starter he's still second top scorer with 2 goals in the league. Our attack is a massive issue and without Kudus it looks really poor....

I wouldn't expect anything in January. We need to plan for two or three top signings next summer and move some players like Johnson and Richarlison on to help pay for it.
We gave up a lot more clear cut chances tonight, they had 18 shots tonight, that's shocking.

Night and day after Simons and Kudos came on. We could barely string 3 passes together before that. They both gave us a platform to work off in their own way.

other than the pen and the chip over the bar at the end of H1 they were all very speculative, Vic didn't need to make any amazing saves
it's not like last season where we were giving up far post tap ins every 10 minutes

Agree with Xavi, Kudus and Bergvall.
Richy didn't have any balls and made the most of what he had. He pressured in that 2nd goal. He has done as well as anybody would tonight, maybe apart from Kane or Benzema type of player that would slid back and become a no 10 player in some instances.
As for Bentancur he scored a goal, disallowed by VDV clumsy foul. He is a very complete player and is the best CM at the club imo.

Thats the sacrifice you make for more team shape, less gung ho. I'd rather be harder to beat than free scoring as a basis for success.
What it is doing is asking the players to do more, have more individual quality. Sink or swim situation for players.
When Kulu and Maddison are back we're looking much better, as we saw when Kudus and Xavi came on. Competent footballers and all of a sudden we look functional.
He didn't need to make amazing saves because they skied every clear chance they had

I’ve no idea what the commentators were on about, I thought defensively we looked atrocious yet all game they seem to be applauding them! All over the place, not following runners, then when we did we followed the wrong ones, no passing players on, leaving players in acres of space near the penalty area. If that was Ange’s defense people would be spewing!
However we dug in showed character and looked better with the subs. Time will tell if that’s a good point up there or not, I’ll be looking at their other results with interest.
