OMT: Spurs v Saudi Sportswashing Machine - Sonny's Farewell

great send off for son - he's got the respect of the entire stadium including the Saudi Sportswashing Machine players

oh nothing too interesting about the game except that defence is really different and better under TF.
joelinton is a nasty piece of work - elbowed gray in the face and got away with no punishment
Saudi Sportswashing Machine has an 18 year old Korean winger who impressed me more in his short cameo compared to our Yang.

i hope levy has the power to pull out some emergency funds, we have looked poor so far in attack and with maddison likely out for a long time, we are going to be trouble if we don't get a similar quality replacement

only seen the highlights, but the goal we conceded was fudging disgraceful

too many up the pitch, somehow a ball from a cb had us only 2 against 3, then the keeper lets it in at the near post

the sort of goal we conceded a thousand times under Ange

Harsh, it was a missile off the inside of the near post. I don't blame the keeper one bit. It is a myth that keepers should always save near posts shots.

I agree it was too easy for Saudi Sportswashing Machine to carve us open, and I have great faith that Thomas Frank will agree and will deal with that.

In general I could see we were snapping into challenges and winning second balls much more than we did under Ange. These things can seem quite minor, but they really add up e.g. Danso snapping into a challenge for our goal.

Kish covers a lot of the things I would type out, so I'll just post the vid here.
I also noticed we switched from 4231 to 433 as the game wore on.

I actually think these friendlies would work much better as 2 games of 60 minutes i.e. 4 quarters of 30 minutes, wherein no player is allowed to play more than an hour.

After 30 mins you have a water break and half time and the coach can change some ideas around, then another 30.

Then a break whilst the new teams come on for the second match, so the crowd get more football and we don't need all these subs breaking up play. There were subs at 46 and 62 and 65 and 75 and 78 and 80 and 82 and 86 and 87 so the second half became a mess really.
