***Official Match Thread Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool Sat. 20th Dec. 5:30pm***

In my humble opinion I dont think Muani Simons and Kudus would be starting any games if Solanke , Maddison , and Kulusevski were fit. I know we have to rotate because of the number of games but from what I've seen Muani Simons and Kudus are average at best and not one of them would get into any of the current top 5 starting line ups
The guys you mention are average as well. Please don't let the injury absence make them better players in your head than they actually are (Kulu excepted).

Dont get me wrong , I don`t think that they are that much better and I know every player usually has a purple patch but on the games I`ve seen this season even though I think Solanke for example is a very average striker I think his pressing and hold up play would be better suited to our current system than Muani up front. Out of the 3 players I mentioned for me Kudus is the biggest disappointment, the amount of times he beats his man but just keeps running with the ball until he runs out of options while I am screaming release the ball. My missus laughs her head off at me saying he cant hear you lol. It helps me relieve the stress of watching Spurs this season

Maddison 20 goal involvements in about 34 starts last season. If you tried to sign an AM to hit those numbers it would cost a lot - and wouldn’t be guaranteed.

Hopefully being reduced to nine men for the second time in 3 seasons might prove to be a watershed moment for our club and the fight shown yesterday might precipitate us challenging for the top 4 again, as this is the Premier League table for the period since that infamous Chavski match in 2023…

Over 2 full seasons worth of matches with a return of 15th, at what point does that just become your level?

It's a fair question. But I don't think it's our level, our squad isn't as good as many thought but it's not a true representation (in terms of being 15th) for many reasons.

Last year luck with injuries, we might not want to use it as an excuse but it was horrific that is a factor. And combining it with going as deep as you can in a European competition it's going to take its toll on the squad.

This season we will probably not go so deep in Europe so the last two or three months of the season we will have full weeks on the training ground like the majority of PL teams have the luxury of and we could well pick up then if not sooner. And hopefully by this time Frank would have got us looking a fair bit better than we have this first half of the season - I'd still say coming anywhere from 6th-10th is more likely come the end of the season than around the bottom 6....

Well that did lift the players
My nephews are hoarse today from singing most of the game
