I didn't see PGMOL running to the screen or even calling for VAR checks on VVD previous misdemeanours against Spurs.

The only defence I can give Xavi was that it was directly down the calf. It was sort of deflecting of the side of his calf with a lot of pressure removed. VVD just used his experience and made the most of it.
