Comic Con seems awesome, all the big news gets broken there with the little teaser trailers, shame only dodgy cam's of them get leaked really
 
I see Vue do a super tuesdays offer now, just sign up to get a 1/3 of all seats, saves a few quid at the Stratford one where it can cost upto £20 for a ticket
 
I suppose this is the place to put documentaries as well as films?

I watched the Battered Bastards Of Baseball on Netflix yesterday. Really enjoyed it. To add I have absolutely no interest in Baseball, but although it is about the sport, it is more about the people involved in the story. Well worth a watch if you like David and Goliath sports documentaries.

Also saw Coffee Town. Pretty funny. Essentially a sitcom in film format, but an easy watch

Was also going to mention the battered bastards of baseball, brilliant doc. The Americans really do know how to make a great sports doc, the ESPN 30 for 30 docs are great and the NFL films docs are also brilliant.

Must be some super deluxe seating for £20, as you can watch a movie on the giant screens at the BFI IMAX or Leicester Square Empire IMAX for less than that.

Did Vue not have a bargain night before now? The Odeon and Cineworld multiplexes near me have done discounted tickets on Tuesdays for years. Although I typically go on Wednesdays to take advantage of the Orange BOGOF offer.

Those leather seats do look very plush and perhaps even more comfortable than the seating at the Berkhamsted Rex indie cinema.

If my nearest Vue multiplex had an Xtreme screen I might make the drive over there occasionally, as it would probably be bigger than most of the Digital IMAX screens that have been retrofitted at Odeon and Cineworld multiplexes.

Although can't beat a trip to the BFI for those rare blockbusters which actually have some footage filmed with the 70mm cameras.

Guardians of the Galaxy, easily the best film I've seen this year and easily the best Marvel adaptation so far

I fricken loved it !!!!

Ha I saw 20 mins of the first one recently what a joke of a film it's so bad it's hilarious
 
Cinema goers in Virginia were surprised when they were shown the wrong film three times.

Fans paid to watch Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, but were instead shown 2012 animated film Rise of the Guardians, according to Hollywood Reporter.

After sitting through 15 minutes of trailers and previews, the cinema aired five minutes of the Dreamworks film, before announcing that they were trying to fix the problem.

Unfortunately, after sitting through the same 15 minutes of trailers and previews, fans were disappointed when it happened again.

While half of the audience accepted the cinema's offer of free tickets for a later showing, the other half decided to stick around and give the cinema a third chance.

After a ten minute wait, the lights went down and a new set of trailers aired, giving audience members renewed hope.

You can probably guess what happened next...

With Rise of the Guardians airing for a third time, unlucky (and angry) audience members were eventually given their money back and offered a free Guardians of the Galaxy poster.

Regal Cinemas has since apologised, admitting that there were no excuses for the debacle.
 
At the screening that I attended of Guardians of the Galaxy, a 2D screening, there were subtitles on screen. Cinema goers quickly voiced their complaints to the staff at Southampton Cineworld, stating that the subtitles were a distraction. The cinema staff were quick to act and well, in my mind, acted as fairly and as appropriately as they could, providing customers with a choice of either a free ticket for a future screening, and a refund, or an option to watch a 3D version of the movie, and to be supplied with free 3D glasses.

I chose to accept the 3D glasses and watched the movie in 3D. The upgrade took the movie closer to the format in which I had originally intended to watch the movie. I think that the film definitely benefits from 3D, and I can imagine that watching the film on IMAX would be well worth it too!

So maybe it's just coincidence, but seems like there has been a few problems with the screening of this movie, even if the quality of the movie itself can't be questioned; an excellent, action packed and quick witted, movie.
