I think Josh O'Connor is pretty much the best actor in the world at the moment; this potentially will be the real lift-off vehicle for him
High rt score but a lot giving it 7/10.

Watched E.T. for the first time in years the other day. My wife had never seen it before. Her verdict at the end: "What a lovely film."
I'd also completely forgotten—or maybe never realised—that the aliens were botanists, collecting plant samples.

Hmm, it was alright, technically good.. Bit of a close encounters rehash.

It was better than Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull but sadly Spielberg (like Scorcese and Scott) appears to be living on former glories.
Hoping for better things from Nolan and Villeneuve’s upcoming blockbusters.

Odyssey looks an absolute corker
I’ll keep my thoughts back until more have seen it. I saw it at the BFI IMAX last night. It certainly was a spectacle!

I had to settle for IMAX with LASER version but might do a 70mm encore at some point… thought that the first 2 hours were epic but (like Oppenheimer) the final act dragged.

I need to go and see it, this doesn't bode well though, I hated Oppenheimer

Zelda Rubinstein in Poltergeist, can't be beaten as one of the best short cameos in film history. Watched it again at the weekend and she is just so good

Could do with her down the Lane.

I preferred the 90s version with Christopher Lee and Isabella Rossellini
Not really actually, but that is pretty good considering the budget and technology gap
The Nolan breaks into my top 5 of the year, up with Bone Temple, Secret Agent, Rose Of Nevada and Obsession

Normal was good fun. Didn't realise it was Ben Wheatley until the end credits. If I had, I would've watched it a lot sooner.

Johnny Depp, Thom Yorke and Peter Falk?
But obviously not Sammy Davis Jnr, as there were never black people on the southern shores of the Mediterranean in Elton's world
