Saw Hamnet...superb.
Jessie Buckley is sensational. I mean, she usually is, but she is surely winning the oscar for this...shot beautifully...the last 15 minutes or so are riveting in a very simple way.
Best film I've seen this year.

Cool. I liked the book and have been to the two houses in Stratford before, so I can visualise the setting quite well. I don't think we get it in the UK till mid-January though.

Anyway watched the conclave last night enjoyed it.
Strangely, I walked past my wife's bookcase of unread books on Friday and saw the book Conclave by Robert Harris.
I read it on Fri/Sat as it is a quick read, and it was decent, entertaining stuff.

Then on Sunday I saw Conclave was available on Netflix (I think, if not Amazon Prime) and watched it and because it was literally the day after, it was painful how much they really had to skip over so many key parts of the book, to get it into film format.
I know people always claim the book is better than the film, but it really is. So many thoughts and fears and reasons are not mentioned in the film. The back stories, the symbolism of the artwork in the Cistine Chapel etc.

I found the film decent enough but not at all worthy of the hype it got. I will look into the book.

A book takes what 12 hours to read? Have to fit that into 2 hours. You'll always be cutting. Also difficult to convey thoughts.
