Ducked out of the downpours today and went to see One Battle After Another.

Wasn't sure at first BUT gradually it dragged me in, and yes, its a good watch. A long film but didn't feel like it. Sean Penn excellent as per. And well shot.

(More than a hint of ....'yes, this is America' :()

Glad that my local multiplex has recliner seating nowadays, as that was a looong movie but indeed well worth a trip to the cinema for; that Rive of Hills car chase looking particularly epic on the silver screen.

Crazy to think that PTA started writing that screenplay 2 decades ago but (sadly) now more topical than ever.

...it is based on Vineland by Thomas Pynchon...I was disappointed TBH...

PTA said on Kermode & Mayo that he started writing this script in the 1990s and was inspired by Vineland but I’ve not read the novel to be able to comment upon how much difference there is between the 2 stories…

Sorry to hear you didn’t rate it, I’m tempted to pop down to Leicester Square to have an encore in VistaVision.

I think seeing it in that format would be great. It's loosly based on Vineland in fairness...I'd get into my issues with it, but frankly it'd be better to discuss over a couple of pints and with other films in there. Put it this way; I think Tarantino would've done the whole premise proud and smashed it. I have to start listening to Kermode & Mayo again as I their show was (is still?) excellent.

Simon and Kermode is very good.

Im super keen to see what Tarantino final offering is. Any rumours on the theme?

One rumour I heard is that he has WRITTEN a script for a sequel to Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, and that someone else is directing (I cannot remember who I heard rumored)...as a director & writer fot that final film? I'm right there with you...I am about to rewatch his library of work...

He also wrote a script for a star trek film. Simon pegg confirmed it.
