NSFH Let's Talk Takeaways

Pizza
Any of my local Italians but this one is amazing… and expensive https://naughty.pizza/bedford/
The Carbopizza is immense and I live in a town that’s 50% Italian

Burgers..l locally I go to Herd which is great and copied by a lot of London places (it was in a few players for the Big Matt)
Chinese… I love Chinese but the missus loves Thai so we have a bit of scramble for what we have
Normally chicken balls, egg fried rice, crispy duck, Singapore vermicelli

Indian wise wise we have started going to some Nepalese ones
Lamb Piro is great
Dum Ki Nalli is cracking too. Curried lamb shank Basically
If in Central London and looking for a curry I tend to go to Cinnamon Bazar in Covent Garden

we now have 3 great Turkish restaurants and tend to got for yoghurt dishes
Favourites are Lamb Adana probably but we change

The Lebanese I used to go too has shut down and I cant remember what we ate there, but it was really good food

Caribbean is a good shout @glorygloryeze Pepper and Spice in Dalston is the real deal. There is one in Tottenham too. Jerk Chicken, rice and beans, celebrations (little cake bread things), patties. Huge portions. A large Jerk, beans and rice could feed 2-4. Fed the whole office with 6-7 large boxes.

Chinese, Indian, Sushi otherwise. @spurspinter1 have you checked out Rasa Indian? The old Puri houses in Drummon Street (Euston) are also novel vegiterian Indian. Not your typical dishes. The white aubergine dish at Rasa is sensational. The bel puri in Drummond street is unique. Not everyone likes it. Idk if they are still there post cross-rail?

BEL puri is still open, walked past it a week ago when in town

The Caribbean Jerk Chicken place just by the Olive Branch on the way to the ground has always smelt lovely
I've never tried it though, anybody on here ??

Not been London based for a while but appreciate the suggestions, next time I'm down Rasa looks worth a shout so cheers mate.

It's an interesting one re specifically veggie restaurants, realistically it'd depend on who I'm dining out with but a lot of my family have real qualms with eateries having the audacity to not provide the tasty bits of a corpse on the plate, I can't pretend to understand that viewpoint but I apparently have to respect it ;)

Just had a very nice thin Philly Cheesteak pizza from Wildwood
Always order from Wildwood on Deliveroo. The Philly Cheesesteak sandwich is really good too, and love their sweet potato fries AND their calzones.

As for Chinese I’ve had the same things since I was a kid - Chicken chow mein, sweet and sour pork balls and egg fried rice. Perfect

@Grays_1890 this is my sort of thread as I can’t cook:D…..

Ohhh good to know, I love a Philly Cheese Steak, I will have to check it out

I can cook but I love my food haha, I love those Insta food blogs

We're served very well by deliveries in my corner of South East London so have a good variety to our takeaway orders

We mostly tend to flick between

Vietnamese
Ramen
Caribbean/Jerk
Nandos (for shame)
Honest Burger
Sourdough pizza places
Fish & Chips (got a good one in Brockley)

Used to be a time when the only takeaway I'd get was Indian - probably up until i was early thirties that would have been 95% of them.

I’m in Stoke Newington, we’re spoilt for choice with options as most places are fully plant-based or have a good vegan menu nowadays. These are our regular takeaways, definitely recommend if you’re in the area and want to take a break from animals on your plate:

Oowee Burgers https://ooweevegan.com/our-menu/

Hungry Beast Indian Vegan Kitchen - https://www.hungry-beast.co.uk/takeaway/menus.php

Sutton & Sons Fish and Chips now do a simply brilliant vegan menu - https://www.suttonandsons.co.uk/vegan/

The Hogless Roast - https://thehoglessroast.com/

Mildreds - https://www.mildreds.co.uk/menu/all-day/

Purezza Pizza - https://purezza.co.uk/

We also have an abundance of South East Asian cuisine and Italian eats. Mad to see witness how abundant plant-based options are nowadays. @SpurMeUp we have Rasa and Rasa Street both less than a hundred meters from our place. They have fantastic veggie options but need to go in and twist their arm about adding vegan dishes to the menu

I went past a kebab shop in Stokey on a bus and they had these automatic kebab cutters in the window that chopped off the meat on the spit....I was like a kid against the window

Edit just checked....Best Kebab
