Just on the whole "Forest trying to get larger bids in" idea, it doesn't work. A release clause is a release clause as in, you agree to deposit £60m and he is released from his contract. In that context, it doesnt matter if another club offers £100m, he is still entitled to choose us over them if we have met the release clause. Once the release clause is triggered, Forest effectively lose control of the situstion. Which is probably why they are f*cked off

This is my understanding too.

My only knowledge of Forrests owner is seeing him be arrogant and entitled towards Nuno when they lost to fall out of the top 4 .

I think maybe he is just a nob whos throwing his toys out the pram. Levy was careufl to make sure Kane had a genelemans agreement rather than a full on release clause. Forrest owner is bitter he made an agreement he now regrets.

Tapping up always happens in fooball and its very difficult to prove. Agents are everyhwere and they always work in the backgrounds. It is something which is technically illegal but always impossible to proove.

Had this been a non release clause issue ther may be something in it but with a release clause its clear to anyone Forest have no grounds for complaint.

It's a cultural thing I suspect.... I worked in the Med for decades and came across clowns like him every week. They are never wrong, never accept they have been bettered, always deflect any blame on others and make a hissy fit when they believe they have been slighted. The amount of ridiculous and frivolous law suits I saw were incredible. And the more money they have, the more they behave like this....

He's a bit more than that.

I won't comment on the rumours around his trafficking trial as I'm scared of lawyers.

I think so to, it might just be heavily delayed. Hopefully it's not too entangled to the extent it distracts us from what ever other business we are trying to do.
If rumours are to be true, we were looking to announce it as early as yesterday, same day that Saudi Sportswashing Machine announced Elanga, could be something in that maybe, seeing two of their top players going on the same day, not good optics for Forest?, so they've looked at how to delay MGW's exit and save some face.

Or the agent has been cheeky in all of this and they want it looked into.

Not sure how it can be delayed, the clause has been triggered so its either going to be us or someone else (it will be us) who gets him at whats now the known price. MGW wants out so it won't be an Olise deal here, it will be he is out and it will be sooner rather than later.

Its a case of he wants to look powerful to a fanbase thats seeing its team ripped apart, but its par for the failure to reach CL course and these players will go. Its all a lord mayors show

Someone made a great point on SSN (shocked me too)

But ultimately a clause is there for a purpose its there to be used, the player and their agent have it in for a reason with the agreement of the club, so all of this is abit pathetic, there was always a chance the clause would be met, if there was an issue, then they should have never of allowed it to be negotiated in. The point that may be emphasised by the PL in this case.......

Yes but Forest still need to send his papers to the Premier League and I guess that is what they are refusing to do.

Of course, but you can't just ignore the clause being met..........

I'm sure there will be laws and rules on not transferring his papers over to the PL if we have matched the release clause and agreed a contract with him.

Would be funny if the PL say they can't do anything about the leaked clause and then turn around and fine Forest for holing on to his registration
