Werner did score the opening goal in Germany's 2-0 hammering of Lichtenstein in 2021, actually. He has never played Malta or Kuwait, but went goalless against San Marino (2017) and North Macedonia (2021).

Maybe it is just me, but discussing Werner's goal scoring prowess or lack off thereof, seems out of place in a Micky van de Ven thread. Especially as one is an attacker and the other a central defender.

Can't argue with that, and I will from now on refrain from mentioning the attacker's name in this thread.
 
I wonder if he will work in a new, more defensive set up. He is not the strongest 1 on 1 defender, he is made for a high line and recovery defending. I wonder if we will play a high line.

Frank has and will play a high line at times. When Raya was there he would often find himself deep in his half in those games that Brentford controlled. He's not anti a high line it's just not his default stance regardless of outcome.

On that note it will be interesting to see how VDV does because like others have said his 1on1 defending and his settled box defending haven't been impressive so far his best defensive attribute has certainly been his recovery pace.
