WUM.
More specifically a likely west ham fan.
Takes a special type to set up an account on a ‘rivals’ forum and actually spend time writing that stuff.
I presume he/she has fleetingly visited over the last few years.
WUM.
Levy likes plans. Remember when he set out his long term plan: a new state of the art training ground, gradual improvement in the team and a new stadium. How many of us took it completely seriously. He has delivered on all and probably better than anyone reasonably expected. He has the perfect manager for his plan and will surely do whatever he reasonably can to keep him on board. The question is whether Levy's generally conservative (as in low risk) planning and Poch's ambitions (very high, so high) have a suitable meeting point.
I suspect they do, but we can never be sure. I think Poch would rather become a Wenger or Ferguson than a Mourinho. It's rather fortunate that the one superclub who might buy his long-term approach is the one he has ruled out.
I agree, I’m not saying he is unhappy - just speculating a little as to why he keeps raising little hints about not staying (even if he’s not serious about it). I don’t know, none of us do no matter how much some like to think they know exactly what Poch really means every time he speaks - he is a complex humanI normally like a lot of your posts mate ( honestly) but ( imo) i think you are jumping to conclusions without any real proof in this instance. I think he wants another plan of course he does, he has mentioned on many occasions the " 5 year plan" he came here under and now he is wanting to know what he next " 5 year plan" entails.
And i see no hint of being unhappy or demanding anything in any of the interviews he has given over the last few weeks.

I think Poch knows his hand is a almost as strong as it will ever be. What has already been delivered considering our budget, the extenuating circumstances of our home ground and notwithstanding the risk we were taking, we’ve had some terrible luck with injuries. We’ve also had some coin flip moments that because of the nature of the sport now really have made the difference between the season being viewed as a success or not, the last minute pen save against the Goons, Ajax hitting the post in each leg in the CL.
I think he wants to secure assurances of one or both of a level investment and a different approach to transfers, whether it’s getting deals done earlier, paying more than market rate for first choices, increasing the wage structure, a new scouting team or whatever. Even if Levy signs off 200m as available, if the wages are capped low or the max for any individual is 45m or they have to be under 25 I think Poch has earned the right to ask for some more flexibility in the approach. Otherwise sustaining the over achievements of the last few seasons will become more difficult and scrapping for 4th where 5th is seen as a disaster will be less attractive to a manager who can can pick and choose his next job in world football.
We’re in a Champions League final! Haha, still hasn’t sunk in yet, feels weird reading about it still!I agree, I’m not saying he is unhappy - just speculating a little as to why he keeps raising little hints about not staying (even if he’s not serious about it). Bit shameful the way the press are ramping up him leaving now we've made the final.
Pre the final, interview he did in Spanish (someone on Reddit did the translation)
You can't say we skimped when our financial position was different then. You trust that Levy said no (if that was the reason) because he knew it was too expensive at that point. Plus please don't cherry pick the successes of the transfer market otherwise I'll have to post the disasters of the transfer market that we avoided for balanceI think the pressure is, if we lose Toby and Eriksen, then we need a rethink. We are refreshing, starting with a fresh approach, that will see us move forward. If Eriksen and Toby are not off, then we don't need such a big plan. Just one or two quality first teamers and some youth prospects. But that may put forward challanges with fiances, and maybe Poch is commenting on that. He wants transparancy that we don't have much cash for the next 2 seasons but then it will double.
I see Poch's pressure on Levy as positive. He is ambitious. Levy is ambitious. They should drive each other. Push the boundries, and go all out. Spending lots of money is risk, but it can also pay massive dividends. We skimped on a number of players - Mane, Suarez - who would have taken us to a new level and been even more valuable assets.

Spot on for me.Levy likes plans. Remember when he set out his long term plan: a new state of the art training ground, gradual improvement in the team and a new stadium. He has the perfect manager for his plan and will surely do whatever he reasonably can to keep him on board. Maybe he's also asking for patience whilst he builds that legacy. Because the process of rebuilding may have to mean finishing outside the top four and failure to win trophies for a couple of seasons whilst he clears out the 'dead wood' and rebuilds, bringing in HIS choice of promising new talent that may take time to bed in.I read it (or part of it) as Poch saying he doesn't want short-termism. He doesn't want to be managing on a season-by-season basis. Which is what he has been having to do for the past few years due to our circumstances with the stadium, finances etc.
He was tasked with ensuring CL football for the new stadium. He's done that ahead of time, with a totally unexpected Final to boot, and (barring a disaster on Sunday) done it for next season.
Now he wants to know that there is a long-term strategy in place, which gives him the tools he needs for his next project, which is to create a legacy for Tottenham Hotspur.
Obviously he needs funds for that but I think he is saying it's not just about having money to buy players, it's about the whole philosophy and ethos of the club as we evolve. We need to understand what type of club we want to be, what we want to achieve and how we set about achieving it. Long term planning. No negativity, we need to strive to become one of football's elite, and to believe that we deserve that accolade. Everyone from Levy down (including us fans) needs to buy into that, long-term. It does sound like he is looking for some firm commitments.
Personally I love the fact that he is even talking about a five or ten year plan. That doesn't sound like someone who is looking to walk away, as long as he believes Levy is aligned with his vision.
I'm a bit concerned about the transparency part and what his expectations are in that regard. I think he just means he wants everyone to understand exactly what our ambitions are so he doesn't have to keep explaining them (see the little dig at the press). I'm not sure what level of detail he thinks should be shared about our long term strategy - I don't think it's something we would necessarily want to be too public about. Transparency on our ambitions yes, transparency on how we are going to achieve them? Less so I think.
