Mateus Fernandes Official

Not sure what makes you think I can do any better!
He just messaged me about news, I replied that we've already bought a CB, very likely have Tonali incoming, and a few others in the works, plus the freebies, said it looks like a good summer. Definitely not the right thing to have said :)

Tbh, he is just resigned to losing all their players who are anywhere near half decent and languishing in the championship for years.
Would it make things worse for him if West Ham sold us Summerville too?

Welcome to the greatest club on earth Mateus. This transfer window so far is beyond my wildest dreams, this is what it must have felt like for City fans waking up that first day the new players started arriving except we've done it the right way. As @DeanoAustin says though this can't be a one off in terms of competing with the big boys for players in future windows but damn well done so far the Nepo's.

He's pretty much given up on football now anyway. But add Bowen to the list and it might send him over the edge.

But back to Fernandes - welcome to our club young man.

Our newly in-charge owners seem to be walking the walk. Not sure where I will be without my scepticism and cynicism. Damn them!

Hmm...

Fernandes joins Southamption for the 24/25 season - Southampton gets relegated.
He then joins West Ham for the 25/26 season - West Ham gets relegated.
He then joins Spurs for the 26/27 season - ?

Welcome to the club Mateus. May we stop your relegation jinx forever more from here.

Have we finally got our deep lying passer/playmaker we perhaps have missed since Modric?

Haven't seen enough of him to make an informed judgement but I trust the people that presumably have.

I slaughtered ENIC, Vinai and Lange last season. I'll give them their dues, they have us acting like a big club this summer so far. Credit where it's due. A very, very good start to delivering on the promises they made last September.

A few more signings still needed though.
What's good is we are bringing players early so we can get them bedded in for pre season, but also not waiting to sell before we buy. It's vital now though that we shift on those we don't want.

There is a big noise that Romero wants to be part of Zerbolution now, so as long as he isn't captain ( madders should be on field boss now, he's born to lead this team the way he behaves) he should stay and become part of the defensive unit for me.

We do now we need to be selling Vicario, Dragusin, Danso (if Romero stays), Sarr, Richi, and loan out those we want to nurture but don't figure this season, such as Moore, Souza, Bergvall, Phillips and Dorrington.

Finally, with three able to play left back, and five or so on central defence, I really don't get the point of Ben Davies staying on the playing staff. He's fourth choice left back and would be behind Archie Gray as CB for me. I totally get keeping him around on a non playing basis, but if he wants to play let him head off to Wrexham for a year or similar.

Your point on doing things early is another good one that highlights the shift in strategy this summer.

I really can’t see why we bought Van Hecke and Senesi if we were anything other than certain Romero would leave.

I’m intrigued to see how it plays out.
