What a downward step - for both parties
With Sterling gone, especially for such an enormous fee, and considering Liverpool's tough start, Rodgers has to be favourite to win the sack race.
Regardless of how good the deal for Sterling was, as we are all aware from past experience, Liverpool cannot hope to replace him with equal quality - they are so far down the rabbit hole of mediocrity that no amount of half-decent signings can dig them out. Everyone knows they have £50m burning a hole in their pocket as well.
Even in the worst case scenario for us this season, we will still have Liverpool to laugh at

He's gone next season, beginning or end .. I hope they have a good spell and fool everyone again, then just miss and finish 6th/7th again, so their idiot management give him one more year and another boatload of money to fudge away ...

Redknapp's worst enemy is his big mouth. If he had kept his mouth shut, he would have been more successfull as a manager, instead of winning just 1 trophy in his 32 years as a manager.

Do not forget his taking three clubs to relegation, should have four on his record ( but he did a runner with dodgy knees). He is a fraud, and now a lot of his pals in the press have dropped him he has to take to teletext to keep his name in lights.

Still not sure if it was the right decision to appoint Redknapp as the Spurs manager. Just imagine, we are the only big club to have been managed by Redknapp in his career. We did well to qualify for the CL in 2010. But always felt we largely underachieved under Redknapp as we had many quality players like Modric, Bale, VDV, Lennon, and Kranjcar.
