Levy's Plan

I'm not quite sure what your saying.
He can sell his shares to whomever he wants. If someone came in at the price he wanted...the deal gets done.

Secondly, The amounts the Lewis's have put in will dilute his holding if they have converted that injection into stock. But the amount they put in is not going to shift his % downwards by much. Furthermore he potentially gets something for that injection. Obviously the 'investment' is intended to make the business better...so it becomes more valuable...so your share (even if reduced slightly) becomes more valuable.

What I guess Levy is weighing up....is he could match their investment to hold his share % as it is BUT as he has no control or active management of the club anymore will be committing £200-300m to an ongoing project that he might simply think 'is being run by idiots' ...so won't make that bet.

Levy won't have 200-300m knoocking around, so he'd have to sell some shares or borrow you'd imagine.

A minority shareholder has less control, and his shareholding will be dilluted. By how much is where there is potential for legal disputes. But his control is undoubtly waning. If he'd sold Spurs for X billion he'd have walked away with a huge amount, now he's going to have a smaller percentage, and his shares are less attractive as whoever buys will be passive and not in control either. If the Lewis' are just realising their fathers dreams and not running it at as a business, who'd invest hundreds of millions to buy his shares? You don't get control or make money.

Predicted this some pages back when he was sacked, or in a different thread.

What happened? Levy as a minority shareholder started to look at ways to cash out, and didn't consult with the Lewis', he tried to push a deal through so he could exit with the maximum return for his shares. This annoyed the majority shareholders who lost some good faith, and then invested in the club, so diluting Levy's shareholding. Maybe Levy will sell his stake to the Lewis' now, close off any lingering legal disputes and make for a clean-ish exit. He won't get nearly as much as if he had orchestrated a sale of Spurs, but he won't be on the doll! As a minority shareholder your shares are worth less normally.

Everything reported/rumoured has been the exact opposite mate, Levy blocked several sales in his time here, he had no intention of leaving.

Clearly, the only thing we know, is Joe was quite happy to let him do his thing for 23+ years, for some reason, the younger Lewis family has decided to step in, and that's where the breaking point happened. Now he's out, he probably does want to exit.

My judgement on the Lewis nepo's remains open, they fudged up in January and with not firing Frank earlier, not getting RDZ earlier but got away with it. Some of the summer business has looked extraordinary initially (quick action, high fees, higher wages), but the stall since then and the significant number of sales (that currently has our net spend well below the last 2-3 summers under Levy) has me concerned that change isn't as drastic as people make it out to be (time will tell).

Are the Lewis family acting out of actual ambition for club? or do they need to bring the club back to CL status for them to check out/sell? is it just to spite Levy (never underestimate the pettiness of rich people, see them bidding for the same NBA franchise as him). We actually probably won't know for 2-3 seasons (if they are still here)

There is no doubt in my mind that Levy's sale of his share of Spurs will follow the same pattern as when he negotiates a sale of any player. He's gonna want Kane money, not Romero money to keep it simple. He will value the club at £5b and call his share worth £1.5b less his share of the 1b debt. So call it £1.2b.

The Lewis's will value the club at £3b and offer him £900m less his £300m share of the debt.

That makes Levy's valuation £1.2b and Lewis's valuation £600m.

If it follows any pattern of a Levy negotiation, this will take years and years. Even if the Lewis's think they're close to a number, Danny Boy will move the goalposts at the last minute.

PIck a side right?
