Levy's Plan

But Levy is buying a ticket in fact he is buying multiple tickets and has put us a financial position to buy even more tickets which he has done.

But just like the Euro millions the odds are stacked against us because of financially doped clubs.
I would say he’s buying scratch cards hoping to win the Euros

It was a double act version of Levy's 'poor little old me' video of 2021 when we were severely ballsing up the managerial search. I personally found it to be a response to critics, more than an actual display of ambition.

I'd be stunned if we did either under Levy. I felt the Europa League was done very much in spite of Levy.

But, who knows, maybe the sun can rise in the west...
I would say Levy not sacking Ange was a significant factor in us winning the Europa League

Yes perhaps, but are we under any illusions that if we could have found a replace in December/January/February Levy wouldn't have sacked Ange then?
We've sacked coaches before for far FAR LESS poor form after all....

He shouldn’t have sacked Jose before that I totally agree, but we weren’t winning that final anyway. Players had downed tools on Jose for a couple of months and it was vs peak City.

Swings and roundabouts re whether we would have won or not in that 2021 LC final; we were showing BETTER form than we did going into this year's EL final and at that point Jose was the only manager that had ever beaten Pep in a cup final until recent feats by ETH and Glasner.
Jose if he hadn't been sacked when we lost to a team who had their coach IN BLEEPING JAIL deserved to at least take on Jose - of course we know the accusations of ambition/lack of ambition that surrounds that decision.

I'm happy Levy didn't sack Ange in the end as we won the EL. I'm sure we ALL are.

But we shouldn't get too carried away in analysing good or bad decisions that have been taken by Levy over all these years (both in terms of giving Levy criticism and praise..)

Ange was so very obviously resting players for the EL in the last couple of months hence the form, Romero and VDV barely played together in those months bar the EL games. but that’s been done to death and you either accept it or not, clearly you don’t which is fine, each to their own.

Jose wasn’t resting his players in the lead up.

Totally agree with your last sentance, in a 20 odd year span Levy/ENIC will make decisions we all disagree with.

He’s sacked managers before without the replacement lined up. Remember the looong manager search ending with Nuno? Plus he’s gotten rid and used Mason as interim several times.

Look, you’re entitled to your opinion that he’s wanted to sack Ange since November and had been looking for a replacement but couldn’t find so he stuck with him. Who knows you may be right.

But I choose to believe he learnt from the Mourinho debacle and wasn’t going to make that mistake again.
