Levy stepping down rumour

Someone at work mentioned this morning about a Saudi taking over, i thought he was just chatting brick but now this has come to light i’m not sure if he is or not now.

It says about a successor being identified but wouldn't that be Vini?

Exactly, most likely a nothing fudging burger ..

We are appointing a "CEO" for the first time, Levy will stay as Chairman

No, I don't have any inside info, but outside of ownership change, my viewpoint is closer to @DubaiSpur's, he's isn't going anywhere.

Would be surprised if we are about to have a full takeover. Mainly because of the Donna news today. If it was full takeover you’d imagine she’d have been persuaded to stay put till it all goes through. Companies don’t like change at that level while deals are going through. I can see a partial takeover happening and the new part owner taking that seat on the board.

Has our value potential for new owners ever been higher than now?

The value is there but so is the price in

- The club has all the pieces (infrastructure), young team & CL football, recent trophy win at Europe level, London based, global brand name, lots of room to invest with PSR, low wage structure.
- We are going to see with new world of economic uncertainties, I'm not sure anyone will be doing 1B+ capital projects in the short term. So massive advantage that's done for us.

The issue is it will probably come at a $3B+ price which makes the list of potential buyers very small. For the small group, it is attractive.

Good point about keeping key personnel in-situ during a takeover. They'd normally be put on a lucrative retainer (although it might be a bit different for Cullen if her plan is to retire).

In your mind is that $3b+ what you pay and you have to own the $1b debt as well?

Honestly would need to look at the numbers in more detail

- The ~$1B is really two sets of debt, long term, low interest Stadium debt, shorter term outstanding player payment structure
- Chelsea has set a precedent with $3B +additional $2B committed spend for a club that still needs to upgrade/replace their stadium and has complications re ground ownership.

So cost will be value +stadium debt +some agree investment, but that would be for full sale

I suspect, partial investment with money in going to player debt and new transfer funding might be more likely.

Lets be honest if someone was going to take over and pay the money Levy wants then they are taking over to spend money, Klopp would be hired and we would be signing big names.

It's all assumptions for sure. But that's also assuming this post is true to begin with, which I highly doubt.

Though, I will point out that 63 really isn't old these days - Jim Ratcliffe is 72 and only just took over as United owner. Stan Kroenke is 77. John Henry at Liverpool is 75.

Levy's solidly middle of the road in terms of chairman/owners (or part owners) in the Premier League.
I'm not talking about that.

It's the assumption that he's some kind of sad little man that only has Tottenham in his life.

You're the one attaching 'sad little man' to it mate. It's a fact that Spurs is his life's pursuit, and he has nothing comparable to fall back on.

Stan Kroenke owns multiple sports clubs in the US - Arsenal is a small part of his portfolio. Todd Boehly runs his own investment firm. John Henry was a baseball legend long before he bought Liverpool. Sheikh Mansour helps run a goddamn country. Marinakis is a globally significant shipping magnate. And on, and on.

Levy just has Spurs as his claim to fame. That's it. It's not a 'sad little man' thing - I think most of us would love to be the part-owner of a billion-dollar sporting franchise. But he has nothing outside it to keep his public profile where it is, and that's why I think he won't let us go easily.

To put it bluntly.....you've got fudge all idea what's going on in the rest of his life.

And NO idea as to what is important to him

Like I said, it's an assumption. But it's one I'm pretty confident about.

Plus, anything else he did would be in the papers, he'd be a listed director/owner elsewhere, and so on. He isn't, to my knowledge.

Think you're taking things way too personally mate. It's a fact that men who spend their lives building their reputation at one place don't give up that role easily. This applies to Levy too. Simple as, and it's why I think he stays absent a takeover that forces him out.

See for yourself if you like - here's his Companies House profile. It's almost entirely Tottenham-related.

She said she's staying for the next few months to handover.

Not sure .. Slot hasn't improved Klopp's reputation (not trying to derail but not sure he's the current "money no object manager")

Lol...Taking a Levy discussion personally....says Dubai haha.

He's practically ruined your life....if I got the gist of your last 10 years of posting correct. :)

Glad to have you back though mate. 😍

I'd rather sell it. Get a £billion and spend the rest of my life on a beach/yacht somewhere.
