Lennon's back baby!

Simply ridiculous but all these exaggerated posts about his form only prove what i've been saying all along and that's most posters on here (and football fans in general) base things solely on a players last game or a very small sample of games (for this case it's about 4 or 5) and completely ignore everything else (4 months is like 4 years to the average football fan).

Do you actually watch our games? ALL our games? Because Lennon has been simply outstanding this season.

No he hasn't been outstanding at all. The last 5 games he has been brilliant but generally this season he hasn't. Go and look at what his av rating on here was before the villa game...as soon as he has a run of good games people totally forget his performances before this run of good games.

So before the Villa game Aaron Lennon averaged a 6.58 rating which was the 8th best overall GG rating (Vertonghen, Lloris, Bale, Dembele, Sandro and Caulker and Lloris all averaging higher ratings).

His all round game has notably improved this season, especially the defensive work. Didn't think he did that well against QPR but having watched every minute of every game this season I can definitely say he has been instrumental in our successful season thus far.

Lennon has been clever and hardworking in defence for quite a while.

We've seen Lennon come inside a lot more this season, either in the build up or late in the move, but that's something we saw a lot less of under Redknapp where he was much more a traditional winger. This season we've seen more of a 4-2-3-1 instead of a 4-4-1-1, with Bale and Lennon operating both higher up and with greater horizontal movement to create space, picking up the ball in pockets of space and inviting defenders.

This is opposed to last season, where Lennon especially seemed to deployed in a more direct manner, looking to receive 1-2s and straight balls into space on the flank behind the defence. When he did receive the ball to feet he would often be shut down quickly by the touchline and forced into a backwards pass to Walker, this season he has has moved more intelligently, and has picked up the ball facing the opposition more often, and has thus been more progressive.

He has looked efficient and well-suited to our system all season but Lennon has really hit form recently, profiting from the success of our team as a whole.

Why are you kicking up such a fuss about it? People are jumping on the band wagon as is expected when a player is on form. Does it actually matter whether or not he was on form before hand? he is on form now and we are profiting from it so how about being a little more positive and getting behind the player?

I agree, he is playing so much better now.

Not really. He's always been this good when staying injury free. There were some complaints over him earlier in the season, but not really justified IMO. He just didn't have enough standout moments to make people think he was having a good game.

Football is a team game. Lennon attracting a lot of attention from the opposition will create room for others. Just as Bale being quiet recently means Lennon has been allowed to shine, but Bale doesn't work as hard defensively.

Felt like he was lacking confidence earlier in the season. He would get himself in great situations after beating a player or two, to then square the ball to a defender and miss the opportunity. Seems far more inclined to shoot when there isn't an alternative on, which is great to see. Noticing that both he and Bale are using their weaker feet a little more too, keep it up boys!

,You do have a point; but Lennon has always need a run of games to get up to speed and in previous seasons he has been in and out ( with injury), this season he has been a ever present and because of that has become one of our better players.
