Do we have to go over this again? Do you know how many times he tried to move the likes of Toby and Rose on? Come on Pirate, you know the story, time won't change that. Unfortunately, if anyone wants to engage in the blame game again, you have to look higher. And again, in that circumstance, defenders would rightly point out to the stadium being a factor. But we had moments where we could've moved players on and didn't. Because we wanted to best price possible. What you then saw was an attempt to utilize them as they were still with us. Again, and I have been very consistent in this view from the off regardless off personal feelings - the manager MUST be backed and if, for whatever reason, he is not, then he is not being fully supported. In Mourinho's case, if he did not want Dele then we should've loaned him, and if the decision to keep him has come from on-high, then Mourinho has my sympathy (and I meant that).However, now he is saddled with him for a few more months, he has to make the best of him. THAT is what top managers do. Remember, we saw the last drops squeezed from Rose towards rthe end of 2019 into early 2020...

I won't even begin to get into how luck swings both ways, etc, etc...FWIW I still believe the City QF victory was virtual robbery because they were brilliant and we were good at best, but was impressed that we refused to give in and kept coming back for one more swing. But no argument, that VAR was the greatest slice of luck I have ever seen, especially for a decision which I thought was marginal at best and would've had me bleating forever. Of course, we've suffered a few, and arguably got served back in the final itself.

Anyway, I thought you'd just have a chuckle at my response and move on, my bad...

There is a lot there, I’m only pulling out one thing, if the rumours about Dele are true, we absolutely shouldn’t be playing him, and we shouldn’t be loaning him out either, we should be helping him through it in privacy, it’s far more important than football.

Sometimes, the worst you can ask of a footballer, is that they play football.

Solid, empathetic, compassionate post. It’s refreshing to see kind comments about players with challenges in their personal life rather than those that impugn the character of the player.

Dependant on how you judge the call it jig his hand.. then it comes down to intent
I’d argue there was never intent but some would say there was
The offside was black and white

I watched it on my iPad on a dodgy stream on holiday as the only bar nearby inexplicably was showing the other game (obviously I wasn't within carragher spitting distance of merseyside), it took ages for them to mention there was a check going on, for a good two minutes I thought we'd fudged it
 
Last week I mentioned how Graham Potter post match called out "the goal v Spurs came after good sustained pressure from us". Something we of course don't do.

Today I want to highlight Calvert-Lewin's comments after the game Vs Man U:

"We had a little change of system a few minutes into the second half and get a few bodies forward. We are at at our best when we play high tempo and get after people."

We are incapable of coming back from a goal down, let alone more. it's chalk and cheese as we clearly have no offensive dictation except pass to Kane and break with Son which everyone knows is our one trick pony.

We have the players just a manager either unwilling or incapable to implement such a structure.

I think with a new manager it would change like a switch. The players are capable of so much more.
 
Again folks, when we post the Mourinho special, please do listen whatever your views. I think you are going to be very surprised at the balance with which we approach the subject. The conclusions will be what they are (you don't plan those) but the initial launch points and overviews are going to be very unbiased.
