James Maddison

I've often wondered if playing excessive golf can cause issues with the body of some footballers. It puts a fair bit of force/deceleration through the knee and the twisting could possibly cause wear/damage to the hip if there is already a weakness there?

Madders loves his golf, and was actually playing in a tournament a couple of weeks ago and has had knee and now hip problems. I think Bale also had hip problems and he was obviously a very keen golfer.

Just a thought. Though I'm sure club medical teams would be all over it.

I used to wonder that about Harry who had left ankle issues. I knew the golf pro that would spend time with him at his house and coach him on his swing. Harry had an indoor golf simulator at his UK house. Obviously a great golf swing like Harry has (almost scratch golfer) means you turn through your left side putting strain on the left joints like ankle, knees etc. Harry's ankle injuries were not long after he played his first round to level par from memory. He then went under par at The Grove in 2018.

Probably like yourself, total conspiracy obviously. I have no medical background but it does get you wondering how these professional sports guys and gals can have their sport negatively impacted by their passionate hobbies.

The same VDV that when brick got hard he caved in and almost had a mental breakdown? No thanks he isn’t strong minded enough.

I mean its RDZ choice to make, but I tend to agree, he looked done last season, I get people can blame the managers, but leaders over history of the game have usually risen against that. He looked petulant
