Jack Clarke

Doubt it under Michael O’Neill. Good manager who gets results but it’s not pretty.

I’ve been unimpressed by Clarke. Not writing him off, he’s not had enough chances yet, but he’s looked very lightweight for me.

Which is my concern, if we are to loan him out i hope its to a club which encourage better football.

As to your second point i tend to agree with your lightweight remark, of all the players he has not really made any impression on me ( good or bad) so its hard for me to know what type of player he is.

I don't really mind skilful, young attacking players going to such teams. They have to learn to fight for the team first and foremost which is good for them. The player will still get chances to show their ability on the ball as well.

Like i said earlier i have not watched anything of the new Stoke, and i agree going to a team that has to fight is not a bad thing, however going to a team that just hit hit and hope ( which Stoke have been for many years) will not allow him to progress. imo

Same here. Maybe it's because we paid a lot for him so expectations are higher. He looks bang average pl team youth for me.

Must have impressed during training to get straight in to the starting lineup, great to see.

More than anything the kid seems to want to play football so let's hope he can make the most of every opportunity that comes his way.

I half-watched 30 minutes just now... Stoke dominating but he wasn't mentioned or involved somehow... maybe I just missed his involvements.

I saw the first half, used the ball well and a couple of good crosses. He’s definitely got some talent, whether it’s enough to feature for us regularly remains to be seen but he’s very young so he has a chance....

wow he is getting involved, has a bit of a swagger and imposing his presence and frustrating the opposition. I like ! looks like he is developing well. what's next - PL loan? or first team? (cost a lot!)

Judging by the lack of updates since moving there it's probably the only thing of note he's done. Wouldn't be surprised to see him sold

He is 20 years old and either starting or coming on from the bench for a top 10 team in the championship, that is absolutely fine. He doesn’t look out of place at that level and, while not yet dominating, he does look one of the more skilful players on the pitch. He’ll probably need another season on loan in the Championship and one would hope he’ll start to dominate in that second season. If he can do that at 21 then he will slot into PL football no problem.
