We’re definitely moving differently and this is why I’m interested to see where a non-Levy Lewis family regime can take us. This is a great example of it.
 
The thing I like most about this signing is the fact that Van Hecke sees De Zerbi almost like a father ( did I read that in here? ) I can see this squad shaping into one that is fully fully committed and much like with Poch, players willing to leave everything out there for De Zerbi.
This brush with relegation might end up being the best thing to happen at the club since Poch.
 
I really hope there's a plan to clear the decks coming with this. We will have three seasoned pros in defence shortly that will swell the ranks in an area we are already well stocked in terms of numbers, if not necessarily quality.

Phillips, Dorrington, Byfield, Vuskovic, Davies, Danso, Dragusin, Romero, VDV, Senesi, van Hecke.

First four on loan, fifth will never play, Danso and Dragusin now look odd men out for their lack of ability on the ball. I wonder if we might keep Romero and lose Big Kev and Dragusin.

left back is equally cluttered as we can play VDV left back as well as Souza, Udogie, Robertson and Davies, which to me means Souza on loan and Davies never featuring.

Right side is easy as we have Pedro the Terminator Porro, with Spence looking like a bit of a wall flower.

It's almost like the club is getting important signings in before outgoings. Who would have thought that possible....

Danso is a better passer and distributor than VDV if that is actually something we are basing our defensive selections on.
 
I dont think Brighton are the habit of doing other teams favors like that. They will go out and sign someone for a limited fee and sell him on in a few years. One of the promoted teams would be a good bet for him.
