The transfermarkt values are heavily influenced by player contracts
Danso has more time left than all of them. Senesi is out of contract and Van Hecke has 1 year left and they have a higher value.

There's no chance we'll be anywhere close to Brighton next season. Scoring the goal that sends us down, however...Yes but he was an established player that had already played 3 seasons for Liverpool and they sold him.
Different to a young player who’s clearly already good enough for your 1st team, going to a team that finished above you and they finish above you again because of him.
Final day of the season and we are battling with Brighton for 5th place and champions league football. Vuskovic scored a header to secure it for them. Costs the club £75M. This place will be ripping into Lange & Vinai for being idiots.

It's predominantly a community of people who discuss and decide considering a plethora of things. I'll happily use my own eyes to tell me Danso is not the 6th best defender at the club, and regardless 'value' is a different thing to performance on the pitch.I think you're putting too much stock in what a website values a player at. Danso is on a low wage contract and has not played enough games to affect whatever parameters are in place on transfermarkts algorithm to adapt the transfer value.

Sure. I'm deluded enough to think that we shouldn't have too much difficulty next season in finishing above Brighton and therefore if we can assist them in taking points of other teams while acclimatising young Vuskovic that might turn out rather well for all concernedHe’s going to go to a club that finished 10 places ahead of us in the table and we will be competing with for a European place?
Dragusin as well as Romero. This seems odd if it's in addition to Senesi.
However it's surfaced at a time when Iraola is going to Liverpool - I wonder if Senesi is stalling for time, so we're just hedging our bets?
Or we expect VdV to go as well as Romero?
And having 5 CBs?Dragusin as well as Romero.
I think having 4 is reasonable assuming there will be some injuries to cover, that we don't do a Utd and go out of both cups straight away. And having 5 CBs?
Or loaning Vusko out?
Maybe that's the conundrum - get two in to create the space for Vusko to go on loan?
VdV, Van Hecke, Danso, Senesi.
Seems like a tough ask to have 4 experienced CBs and not be in Europe

That's quite a wild statement - vuscko might be our best, but it's far from guaranteed, and even less guaranteed he'll adapt to the PL.And your best one not at the club.
Maybe, and saying this as someone who has not watched a single minute of Bundesliga ever, RDZ thinks he needs to develop his on-ball abilities? Given the signings/targeting of both Senesi and JCVD it would appear this is an area he requires his CBs to excel at. If he’s our 4th or 5th choice option then it’s unlikely he’ll get the game-time necessary to develop this part of his game. The club cannot be in a situation where a club like Brighton has finished above us and Vuskovic has a similar year to what he did at Hamburg
I bet you hadn’t realised Ndombele is one of our best ever midfieldersIf you want to evaluate on one metric, rightio. And transfermarket also being that one metric....I'm beginning to see now![]()
Correct. The other person arguing your point thinks it’s not an issue because we won’t be close to finishing near them…

Not doubting you but my view is that I would be surprised to see RDZ start the season with a young, PL-untested CB. I think he’s going to want to hit the ground running and not want inexperience to cause us to drop points. He is quality on the ball. He will be our 1st choice.
