Yeah, but you could have experience working on autonomous machines on construction sites and convert your skills to drone warfare. It's still enlisting.

I do agree that it is a changing landscape though. It's not about warm bodies per se anymore.

Ground warfare would not be completely eliminated either. But of course way less significant compared to anything else Britain has been involved in.

Enlisting would give you a greater choice in what you do as well.
 
Fight for what? Consecutive governments and certain posters on here have told us that nationalism is evil and the cause of all wars. If we have no community, or culture what is the point. Let them have it.

Well British culture is infinitely superior to Russian inspite of any flaws.

But one of the very few benefits of a war like this would be a collective national pride being restored.

The fetishisation of WWII by the right is mad when you consider how many members of our armed forces were not born in the UK.

One would assume that your average reform/restore voter would continue to side with Russia, as that is where they imbibe their political beliefs from.
 
I’d volunteer for anything I could do on a tablet from bed. Directing drones onto Rostov barracks or writing gloomy tweets for Russian social media or identifying British quislings for detention on the Isle of Wight. Whatever was helpful and could be done in slower time.

Would I fight for national pride, not sure, but probably not.
Would I fight to protect my loved ones, definitely.
Would I fight if it was going to turn our lifestyle into something akin to the ussr, yes.
Would I fight if it was a for a just cause, ie the enslavement or genocide of other people, yes.
Would I fight to protect our culture, no, definitely not.
Would I fight if it was just two political groups looking to distract the populace from how crap their lives are, no.
