Harry Kane MBE

The only way I’d accept Emirates Marketing Project is if we get;

1. sterling in exchange and they subsidise any additional wage requirements for the duration of his contract, above the 200k pw we’d pay him.

2. they convince aguero to join us on a 2 year deal and they pay all his wages and signing on fee.

3. £150m immediately payable in one single payment.

4. bellend kyle walker has to join sheffield wednesday on a two year loan where he earns £300 pw and his city basic wage goes to the TH foundation.

Everything but point 1 ..

- Sterling would have Spurs supporters tearing their hair out, he's what you get if you took the absolute worse attributes of Dele, Lamela, Lucas & Lennon, gave that person repeated concussions and then put them on a football field. The combination of his awful conversion rate and constant bad decision making, plus diving, fudge me

One of the more balanced articles on Kane and whether he should move here:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/57156888

It's a bit rich for shearer to say he should go and win medals when that's the exact opposite of what he done.
I also laugh at the stay at Tottenham to win trophies, if we won a PL or CL the press would be trying to sell Harry because he has achieved all he can at Spurs, if we won one of the lesser trophies it would he needs to leave because he deserves the biggest trophies.

Conversations with people suggesting that a move to PSG wouldn't work as it's a less competitive league, etc.
If Kane were to move to City, I'd argue the PL becomes less competitive than Ligue 1, City are already streets ahead of all other teams in the PL and then to add Kane to that team...

Could be that he regrets staying at Saudi Sportswashing Machine when he could have gone to Man Utd and won everything. Granted he had already won the league at Blackburn but he must have known he would have stood a greater chance of winning things at United rather than the barcodes.

I recall Totti saying he’d rather win one title with Roma than 10 with Juve. I think Italian footballers in general are a bit more loyal but Kane was probably of that same mindset but the last two years he’s decided we’ve gone backwards and he’s not prepared to wait around for another 2-3 years for us to get into the position to challenge again.

Very true
It would be an embarrassment for them to not win it
Almost like PSG currently

Erm Shearer has won medals. He won the PL. Harry has won zilch. Is he blameless in that? No. However I clearly understand why he would want to leave.

Shearer won one medal then turned his back on the biggest and most powerful club in the country who were winning trophies every year to play for his boyhood club.
I admire shearer for that, I hope I would have done the same, but it is hypocritical for him to suggest Harry does different.

I don't blame Kane for wanting to leave; he will have seen far more of how Levy/ENIC operate than many of us and i suspect he's lost faith in them to really push the boat out to compete.
I still suspect that whether he stays or goes is dependent on the CL final outcome.

Regardless, we should cherish the goals he's scored for us over the years.

And I’m sure he has seen that no one is competing with city and time soon
So if there is an opportunity to join them any player would as it’s guaranteed trophies

Setting aside teh general great life of a professional footballer, the last two years must have been tough to endure at Spurs, bar odd up-blips.

The general slide in Poch's last year, the negativity of Jose's football, the increasing schism between manager and some players, the negativity in the media etc....

In a way, it provides a low base for a manager to come in and from which to improve things. Is there a potential for the Kane issue to get Levy to back the new man strongly this summer, Kane to stay for 1 more year and us pick up a trophy? Similar to how some other players (eg Gerrard) have done u-turns

Yep. I can see Pep bidding but only if they lose the CL final, which will bring a lot of howls about "needing a guarenteed striker to complete his wonderful team" blah blah...

Having seen the Amazon documentary I can’t help but wonder what it’s like in the Spurs canteen with them all eating at their tables looking at Sky Sports News that’s always on the screens and seeing them go on about Kane asking for a transfer. Must be a bit weird:D....

I would agree with a lot of that part from the last bit re Levy making such a change; i think the thing with players like Kane and Eriksen before him is that they've seen it all before and i think once they see leopards don't really change their spots they mentally check out.
I don't think Kane even is thinking of Levy changing and if a big enough bid comes in from City Kane will go, regardless of how much any new manager is 'backed'

Kane will do to city. I have no doubts about it
But it will be in Levy’s terms and that’s the kicker in the whole thing
If anyone thinks levy is going to bend on anything it will not be the transfer of his best player

Totally agreed.
It's why it's possible Kane is with us another season by default.
If he doesn't go this summer, he'll definitely go next summer imo

He goes

- If he wants to go (Levy is not going to cash in unless forced)
- If someone has the money

To your point, odds of that this summer are minimal
