Great goals thread

Isn't there always some amount of luck involved in great goals? Lovely goal, by Tigres of Buenos Aires, by the looks of it.
For sure, but some players seem capable of scoring worldies from distance almost on a regular basis. Take Bale, he was never an out-and-out striker but his worldies-to-total-shots ratio must surely be up there with the very best of them.

Oh, absolutely - I agree! I think I meant; there is almost always a bit of luck involved, but the really great goals are almost always mostly down to skill. You couldn't pick a random person off of the streets and have them do it, for instance!

Ah, I remember that well! Davor Suker, what a player. They don't come like that anymore.

Crazy how a country with a population of less than 4 million churns out so many great players, miss when we had that trio of Kranjcar, Corluka and Modric!

Must've been something about that Euro 96 ball which made it so good for chipping over stranded goalies! Poborsky didn’t quite go to have quite so illustrious a career after his iconic goal though.
