Giovani Lo Celso

Thought he was our least brick player today. Worked hard for the ball. But his injury record is a concern.
But their muscle injuries which eventually come from fatigue and miss management
They take more time to recover from and need better management of the player
Problem as you say is it becomes a concern as their repeatable failings of his body

He needs rest, play a Dele or a Fernandes or whatever.

He has been managed quite carefully I think. 23 minutes against Palace, 58 against Liverpool and then the 49 minutes before the injury today.

I get that he's been injured, not a proper preseason, but he's been eased in and not been asked to play all that much.

But has what very much like a muscle injury
And muscles go with under preparation or over use

I thought it was more that the risk increases with fatigue and a lot of minutes?

There will be some risk of injuries with the season as it is. I don't think we can manage players to the point that there is no risk of these injuries. He seems to have been managed carefully, but still got injured. Not sure it's fair to call that mismanagement.

Again we don’t know the details to compare
And I’m not an expert (rare I know nowadays for a keyboard warrior)
I’m just going on what is generally accepted that muscle injuries are avoidable with management in most cases.
The Thursdays podcast on the BBC this week (it may have been a later one ) had Karen Cairney talking about it and was focussed on Allan at Everton as he is out now with his second injury that’s muscular
