Yeah, Moore came back from illness in mid January but Udogie was available for all but 3 of those games. Whilst Reguilon was out of form he surely could’ve done an adequate job against that infamously bad Southampton team so that Destiny’s hamstrings might’ve had some respite. Plus I recall in the OMT how bewildered many were that despite going 5-0 up in the first half we didn’t give Maddison or Solanke a breather until around 80 minutes.

True but if you’re going to include Roma and Elfborg in last season’s congestion then surely Frank gets some slack for having to deal with PSG and Dortmund bookending this almost equally appalling run on PL form? Plus we had Villa in FA Cup which is tad more difficult a draw than Tamworth.

At least we had some attackers to rotate between back then and Son + Solanke + Kulusevski + Maddison would all immediately improve this current team which now has absolutely no slack left in attack or midfield.

I’ve also been responding to the injuries I can remember off the top of my head. But you listed Richarlison as an option for the games in that run despite getting injured in our game against Villa and returning in the Arsenal match. You’re not fairly representing the injury situation in the squad at the time. So many of the players you listed missed so many games!!

Our 5 star attackers who were available for that entire sequence of games; well aside from Solanke being ill for Fulham when Son was up front and Richarlison was back for Everton when Johnson joined the injury list.

Going 5-0 up!…. I can’t even imagine going 2-0 up under this manager!…

If he's still here tomorrow it's because the board want a human shield for the game.

Once he's gone they will be getting both barrels from the supporters tomorrow

We've got a long break before the next home game they will be hoping the anger dies down in.

I reckon he could be here until the window closes, too late to spend for any new guy coming in.
Cynical, moi?

You have to feel sorry for Frank. A lot of people wondered how Brentford would fare without him and he would fare without Brentford's excellent scouting system.

It just takes one quick look at the table to know the answer. It will take him years to rebuild his reputation, assuming he ever does.
Brentford have been doing better without TF and despite losing Mbuemo and Wissa.

Sometimes managers look better than they are because the right players were bought in.

Moore had a virus and we treated him understandably with kid gloves when he was back. He wasn’t an option.

Reguillon was also not really part of the squad. We only played him against Villa towards the end of the season because we were fully tanking the league to prioritise the Europa. I also note that the Southampton game was I think the first time Spence was trusted in the league to start right? Before that the staff were testing to see whether he truly had his head on straight.

I don’t think Frank needs as much slack because he has at least always some rotation options each match and crucially has been able to play actual centre backs in their actual position in the pitch.

Frank definitely needs as much slack in the UEFA comps in Jan. He might even go into Tuesday with only one fit double pivot midfielder if Gray and Palhinha don't make it. If not he'll be patching these guys up and they won't be 100%. He's also playing with a very lightweight forward line and he's naturally without Dragusin, Gallagher, Solanke because of UEFA squad quotas. Kudus, Bents, Kulu, Madds, Richi etc all injured and Sarr probably not back in time. In one scenario Scarlett might be the only "senior" sub or Olusesi may have to start.

I think we might see on Tuesday a team and squad very comparable to Ange's January ones. I mapped Ange back to mid Feb and the Utd game before I really felt he had a squad. We then beat them 1-0 and went on to beat Ipswich a week later. That was about the best week of the second half of the league season from memory. Difference is, when it comes to Burnley Frank will have a stronger squad than Ange was operating with in January.

Any which way you look at it, it's been the lack of our best attacking players and the assimilation of new players in parallel that has been our Achilles heal. Because of this, Tues will be the straw that breaks the camel's back with Frank and his job, Nobody will be factoring in the depleted squad and the inability to compete.

I have to say, not a wholly original thought at this point, I feel desperately sorry for the guy. He seems like a decent man and has been dealt a terrible hand, which I concede he’s played badly.

Hopefully he’s put out of his misery after tomorrow, for his sake as much as ours.

Remind me again...who is not registered in the CL squad?

At this time I believe it is Dragusin, Gallagher, Solanke, Kulu, Madds. It is definitely 4 less than Saturday's squad with Davies being the other new absentee. It could be 5 down if Gray doesn't make it, I also read that Xavi hobbled off at the end, after the Bowen yellow. Frank will be anywhere from 4 to 6 of Saturday's squad missing but only 3 down to UEFA squad rules.

Jeez that's bleak. I'd completely forgot Solanke is out of any CL games for the rest of the season

I think Solanke can come straight back into the next CL phase without using one of our 3 named changes. Obviously, at the expense of his injury cover Tel, where we used that UEFA stipulation.

Because it's January...I'd wrongly thought we'd already done the Uefa squad rejiggle 🤣.....sorry mate, I won't waste anymore of your time
