O'Neill played (briefly) for City not United.

Time for some obscure names...

Clayton Blackmore
Did Phelan manage?
Paul Parker?

I seem to recall Clayton Blackmore was the manager of a lower league team in Wales a while back. No idea about the others though.
Potential good one; Neil Webb was once manager of Weymouth for a few weeks does that count?

Otherwise, I struggle to even remember players for SAFs early years at Utd.

Cantonas never managed has he? DOF at New York?

I was thinking of the Aberdeen side which SAF won the Cup Winners Cup with, O Neill was captian? Or am I barking up the wrong tree... hmm

Yes, there are now seven "Grand Slam" managers - sorry about that!

Kenny Dalglish, Alex Ferguson, George Graham, Joe Mercer, Jose Mourinho, Bill Nicholson and Don Revie.

English Domestic Football Major Trophies Winning Managers

Friday 2nd March 2012:

Which 24 footballers who played under Sir Alex Ferguson went on to become managers themselves?

Mark Mcghee
Alex Mcleish
Gordon Strachan
Willie Miller
Neale Cooper
Eric Black
Bryan Gunn
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Mark Hughes
Steve Bruce
Paul Ince
Roy Keane
Andrei Kanchelskis

Can't think of many more to be honest, must include people from Mexico 86 like Steve Nicol, Paul Sturrock......maybe Roy Aitken? Not sure if he ever managed or just was a number 2?

Laurent Blanc
Bryan Robson
Jordi Cruyff
Henning Berg

The most obvious one of course: Darren Ferguson

McClair's been reserve team manager at United, not sure if that counts.

What was the Utd squad he inherited, there might be some that became managers, and may have since retired, due to lack of success. Did more players prior to Premier League going to management as this meant they had an income still, with the wages being much lower?
