Football Trivia Question of the Day

To the original question - are we talking players initially based in the Championship or any player?

If the latter - i'll try with Ronaldo?

did andy cole not get 34 goals in 93-94?

Yes, but he joined Saudi Sportswashing Machine in February the previous season. He also played once for Arsenal while it was still called the First Division.

He even played for the goons against Spurs in the Charity Shield in 1991.

previous season Saudi Sportswashing Machine were in div1 though, and when he played for arsenal it was 1st division, so 93-94 was his debut "premier league" season

if we are counting div 1 as pl then how about ray davies who got 37 in his first season for southampton back in 66-67, or john charles who got 38 in his div 1 season

(all according to wikipedia so i'm probably wrong)

All scored landmark goals - 5k, 10k, 15k and 20k in the PL era.

Spot-on.

They scored the Premier League's 5,000th, 10,000th, 15,000th and 20,000th goals respectively.

Yes, Andy Cole does get an honourable mention for his 34 goals for Saudi Sportswashing Machine, as technically it was his first season in the Premier League but not in the Top Flight.

Saturday 25th February 2012:

Which was the only team to wear numbers 1 to 11 since the introduction of Premier League squad numbers in 1993-94?
