A fudging miracle happened last night just past midnight. I was (not sure why) just trawling the ticket site and managed to bag two tickets for Spurs v Saudi Sportswashing Machine, together and bang in the middle of the South Stand row 40ish. The miracle is one is a junior ticket!

Having not been that arsed to watch our pre season friendlies, with finding a stream, plus not having Spurs play ...or so I thought.

Checking my bank statement Spurs have charged me £35! Now, I can see from my account I have no DD, StOrder or continuous card authority agreements set up with them for this.

I paid for it last year but don't remember any phrasing that it would be continuously renewed until cancelled.

It’s automatic renewal unless you manually cancel it. I subscribed in 2024 when it first launched and they caught me out like you last year.

This year I bet they’ve caught a lot more people out too, mine was still set to renew because they conveniently didn’t provide the free code until after the renewal date. Frankly your Spursplay is linked to the same account as your season ticket or membership so there was no real reason to bother with codes in the first place other than to catch some people out.

Cancel now so that you don't forget next year.

3.5 Subscription renewal. Your subscription will automatically renew for consecutive Subscription Periods and you will be charged the Subscription Fee for each Subscription Period after that until you cancel. You may cancel your Subscription at any time (at which point your subscription will no longer automatically renew) in accordance with section 6.3 below.

Jeez that's cheeky....surely anyone with a ST or Hotspur+ (I believe it's free with that level of membership) accounts would have been toggled to free?

If they are charging my debit card annually, shouldn't they have a recurring card payment logged with my bank...ain't they da rules?

Yes I read that earlier....I wonder how much that is communicated during sign up?.

Furthermore....the below is ridiculous given the work done previously on making Direct debits consumer safe.
