Fixture & Ticket News 25/26

Absolute joke that
Saturday 3pm all the fans having a good drink in the sunshine, now it's the crappest possible time for both sets of fans

The guys who decide about date changes and time KO stopped giving a brick about traveling fans a long time ago. Its now more important to them to give armchair fans their chance to see it on TV.

Yep, got to wait until 16 April to find out if Villa will get to the EL SF.
So frustrating when trying to make plans.

I know evening KO not good for some but atmosphere for night games is usually better.

TV money pays the bills so you can't blame clubs for being at their beck and call.
Most PL clubs make more in TV money that gate money e.g in their last accounts Villa gate receipts £28 million, broadcasting revenue £170.7 million , Everton gate receipts £20.3 million, broadcasting £129.2 million.

Is the Leeds game our first Monday nighter this season? I can’t remember being to any.

Not while we were in Europe.

Saw a bbc? thing (found, below) that showed Mon/Fri were almost totally with bigger non-Europe clubs - predicted we'd go to the top of that table next year. That's what staying in PL brings.

Tell me why it’s a bad idea.

There are tickets in the home end on general sale for Villa. Considering going. Bad idea?

Sat in the home end at our away games twice before. Once at Liverpool, a 0-0 in 1996, and they were actually okay about it but I was 15.

Did it at Stoke in 2010 when we won 2-1 and had to sit on my hands as I was in with the proper knuckle draggers.

What say ye? Good idea or stupid idea.

It's never a good idea, but sometimes irrestible when a chance comes along for an away ticket.

Done it a couple of times as well - Anfield 1992, I was front row in the Anfield Road End, when Paul Stewart scored a header to equalise for 1-1, of course we lost 2-1. I had actually jumped up when our goal went in, I then got bounced on (good natured) by a load of kids when they scored the winner. No problems.
Arsenal 4-4, different story, sat on my hands the whole game, buried my face in my coat when Bentley scored the screamer. I had to leave at 4-2 as it was unbearable. I'm glad I did though as I would probably have been murdered when the equaliser went in. Celebrated on the way to the tube with the other exiting Spurs fans.
Went to Chelsea Blackpool in 2010. I'd nothing to do so I went to the Bridge to see if I could get a ticket. Word came down the line from the box office that the cheapest were £80, said fudge that and turned away. A bloke then offered me his mate's card for £40 as long as I went in with him. I said ok, but then he insisted that I go for a pint. I ended up in the pub with Chelsea fans buying me pints, "This is nelto- he's from Belfast!" I couldn't take my phone out of my pocket because I have a Spurs screensaver. 🤣
