Fabio Paratici - Also Sporting Director

Can anyone explain?

Two DOFs?? Paging @Bedfordspurs, @thfcsteff , @harr1984 , @Muttley
History tells you two people in the same sort of position inevitably turns into a power struggle.

All we can do is hope that when their views clash (which is a given), they are professional enough to move forward together and that the overall bigger picture things they are aligned on (I would assume they are and that this was discussed pre appointment). Who knows, but am glad to see Paratici back officially at the club anyway....

It worked well at Brentford for a decent period and there is a great podcast on it with both guys
I assume there will be some overlap of their roles and of course some demarcation
Lange owns Nordics, Paratici owns Central Europe for example

Hopefully this duo will take us to the next level, just as Bentford’s duo once did for Frank…

If Paratici and Lange can work well together and their roles are clearly defined and they're both happy with that I think this can work well. But part of me thinks this is going to be a somewhat temporary thing, with one of them leaving at some point in the next year or so.

This role would perhaps be somewhat similar to the one Lange had at Villa though and given that Paratici has been involved as an advisor all along wouldn't be a surprise if this has more or less been the plan for a while.

I like Paratici. If he's THE answer as a DoF I'm not sure, but he did good things for us. Gets deals done and we have a fairly pragmatic manager that perhaps doesn't require specific profiles to make his football work. And we should be quite strong on talende identification overall. Hopefully some good matches and good skills across the board in total.
