what are you expectations for 25/26 season

We'll need depth and youth to step up in games.
Proper rotation is required. We can't have a first choice 11. Then change 9 players for a cup game.
Motivation from the coaching staff/players. Realise every game is important.

Hopefully winning the europa will help.
 
A move to seeing a well coached and drilled side that has green shoots of what the future looks like. Top 7 finish and a couple of cup runs, if we can nick one even better. Squad development crucial this season

When was the last time a new manager starting a season (with preason) finished below 6th?

Conte 4th.
Mourinho 6th?
Poch 5th.
Redknapp 4th.
Sherwood 6th.
 
My guess is we won't take the domestic cups too seriously. We'll probably play our B team, so only a favorable draw will see us advance. Especially in the league cup, which starts earlier. The focus is going to be on the league and getting out of the group stage of the CL, which is fine for season 1 and probably the right thing to do. We need to establish ourselves again in the top 4-5 and from there we can push on for a domestic cup.
 
Surprised at the amount of people saying Top 8.

I expect / think / hope for minimum Europa qualification through the league, and ideally a realistic push for the CL spots through the league.

We are Europa League winners, and have a squad with quality in lots of places. Our young players will be a year more experienced, and will have forged more of a winning mentality by getting over the line in a major final.

If Frank is a good hire for our strategy as a club, and I believe he is, I don’t want to be bumming about in 8th. And I don’t think we will be.

Hoping that now the players have experienced a bit of glory they'd want more. So even if it's a b team they'd give their all.

The 2 best teams in the europa finished 15th and 17th in the prem.

i'm with you and happy to see us progress more than half way through the cup competitions AND get Europa placings, because I know we need that extra cash for future transfers
