Thank feck that ManUre persisted with Amorim and didn’t switch to Carrick 12 months ago!

I wonder whether Marinakis now regrets stealing Palace’s place in Europa League, as they’d have been the only English representative in that competition and probably have ended their half century wait for another European trophy.

What does league performance have to do with winning a Cup? Did it matter in 2008 when we finished 11th? How about 1999 when we finished 11th? Or 1991 when we finished 10th? Or 1984 when we finished 8th? And so on...

I was (quite obviously) being facetious but it seems like some still do actually want to denigrate our Europa League win last season!

Ii wasn’t denigrating our win - I’m grateful for every success we achieve. I was just acknowledging Villa’s ability to compete on more than one front.

Ii wasn’t denigrating our win - I’m grateful for every success we achieve. I was just acknowledging Villa’s ability to compete on more than one front.

We used to be able to do that, 2019 being the best example, CL final and 4th place in the league. Think we also got to the semis in the league cup too. Granted we didn’t get over the line but we competed on multiple fronts which id frickin love us to be able to do right now!
