I think that was "Head of Football Matters." All we need now is the "Grand Pooh-Bah of Football Manoeuvres," and we'll be all set.

Oh i see....you mean like:

I'm on the same timeframe, but it will be interesting to see what the crowd is like if we get to the 15th-20th Jan with no big name signing to improve the squad.
Not saying it's you expecting this, but would be pretty silly to expect any big name signings in January. For starters January isn't really the window for that, and we have made ourselves pretty unattractive to sign for the 'bigger' players.

Bottom half of the table, football style poor, manager getting criticised, our own fans abusing players, unlikely to do much in CL beyond the league phase, not guaranteed Europe next season - why would anyone sign for us in January who's that good?

People talk about Semenyo, that's wishful thinking - both Manchester clubs and Liverpool looking at him, I seriously doubt that's happening. Maybe if we have a better second half of the season and finish in Europe we could tempt the odd better player if we stump up the cash, but I really wouldn't expect anything game changer wise this window. And I wouldn't blame the 'new regime' for it either....

I think Frank has set them up, rightfully with his "we will do stuff in the window" seemingly thats not rogue and he has been allowed to, so anything around that time is fair game?? I am not expecting MAJOR signings, but I am expecting work

I think you take into account they have always been here the Lewis family and this is not a break away from Dad, this is a loophole of sorts to keep the club off the Law.

I agree with all of this, the problem the club has, is the fans are already tinkled off, it will just be another failure in some fans eyes.

Semenyo is unrealistic and we've done the right thing and moved on if we've been given the not interested.

I think there are opportunities, Semenyo goes to city and that frees up one of our targets.

If Semenyo goes to City then we should be back in for Savinho

He's far from crap and better than anything we have

I mean thats a low bar

If we hadn't been linked with him at he higher price I doubt he would have peaked your interest before? Happy to be wrong there but I think its another were we are linked at 70m, people want him because of the fee, realise he isn't very good and accept it for a cheaper price?

Its the race the the bottom

I liked Savio at Girona so I would have been Interested. Given his Girona season I would have said a 50m ish fee was fair at that point.

He hasn't really impressed at City but Pep doesn't use him correctly imo, but we'll see what he can do once he leaves City for where he does end up.

I can't be having someone at 50m who was no good at 70m because they are cheaper.

Its what we have done for years.

He is muck

It's entirely possible that the Girona year was a one off pinnacle season of his career and he's been some what found out since, but honestly if we had signed him instead of City I would have been very positive of the move at the time.

Muck feels strong to me but you might well be right, I think only time will tell. It does feel like he would need to be even cheaper than that now because he needs to rebuild but he would not be the first talented player to fall away at an elite club to later on show their real strengths once they've moved on.

He isn't my primary pick for the left hand role admittedly, it would be a big risk to buy him at this point. We need someone ready to come in and perform right now, to be at a high level relative to their talent immediately. So i agree with you about signing him.

People need to forget about Semenyo. Especially when he’s an Arsenal fan and probably creaming himself at the thought of playing for them.
